Henge Docks Vertical Docking Station for the 13-inch MacBook Air

Works as advertised, easy to dock, easy to use.

I don't know if the cause of the issue is because the USB port is only 2.0, but when docking my MacBook Air (Mid-2012 w/ USB 3.0), everything I plugged into the USB port did not work properly. It would cause my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse to not work properly. It doesn't offer as much of a convenience as I thought it would be either. It only routes two ports: Thunderbolt port for display and USB port for anything USB. Seeing as one of the two does not work, this thing is pretty much unnecessary. I'm going for the Chromecast instead, and hoping for future third-party support for streaming of all apps, i.e. AirCast.

This is a great way for me to connect my laptop to my desktop monitor. When I first got the dock, though, I needed to buy an adaptor cable that goes HDMI -> Minidisplay port. This trip to BestBuy at rush hour cost me a good hour. Had I known beforehand, I could have ordered online and received both items at the same time, but I digress. The only issue I have with the dock is that removing my Macbook requires a bit more force than I'd like to use when handing a folder-thin $1500 computer. I have to squeeze the side mac whilst pulling in order for it to come all the way out. Since I'm a college student, this process happens about once-twice a day and I fear for the long-term health of my computer.

Macbook Air just doesn't work well in clamshell mode. Not the products fault, but I threw the thing away because it never worked right thanks to the laptops inherent flaw.

Cool product. Very slick. Works well. Removes clutter on desk. But I ultimately dumped it because it significantly degraded my WiFi connection. The MacBook Air was perfect in the exact same spot on my desk without dock, but in dock, I lost WiFi. Believe, I tested it a 100x and checked with Henge support with no resolution. I wanted it to work badly, but in the end, no joy.

I saw some reviews that weren't stellar about this product. But I wanted to try it, figuring I could just send it back if I didn't like it.I have to say, it works great. My MacAir slides in and out easily. There is an easy instruction book included that shows how to get everything set up, took maybe 2 minutes. My regular monitor works great, very happy with this purchase.I considered other products including Landing Zone. But for the money, I think this is a winner.

I don't know if this is Apple's fault or HengeDocks fault, but I was unable to make it work even once. And I consider myself a Mac expert.I tried all possible sequences - attach power first, make sure that everything works with the MBA open (apple's bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse). Latest OS/X, all accessories a genuine Apple.As soon as I close the lid and insert it into the dock, nothing happen. I had high expectations from this product, I wanted my wife to use it as a desktop replacement. It is now used as a book stand. I'm disappointed.

Over all, this product is fine. Docking is a bit frustrating, and only now - a month after taking delivery can I dock it 9 out of 10 times on average. One thing to note is that your external monitor will not turn on unless your MBA is plugged into external power. Also, it is a bit frustrating too that it only has one (1) USB port. Otherwise, it does the job and does it well.Suggested improvements would be an additional USB port, a cable management system or suggestions for such, and a better blend in color juxtaposed with the white currently used as the mold color as the lettering color.

Works perfectly - to reach 5 stars I would want it in metal. That is not a flaw but a wish on my part!

OK its quite simple do not buy this product. Why? Because it doesn't work. I have a dual thunderbolt set up with my Macbook air which works fine in clamshell mode. So I figured a nice dock would tidy things up. It certainly tidied but didn't actually do much else.I checked with Henge and they admitted that it would not work - so would have been nice to know beforehand

Als die Docking Station ankam, habe ich ihn sofort getestet und mich gefreut! Weil er wirklich super aussieht und den Schreibtisch einfach super Aussehen lässt.Entnüchterung gab es erst, als mein Macbok, nach dem herausziehen aus dem Henge Dock einfach mal für eine ganze Minute nichtmehr an ging. Obwohl mein Macbook Air zu diesemZeitpunkt gerade mal eine Woche alt war. Zwei Minuten gewartet und er ging wieder...Was mich aber noch mehr enttäuscht hat, war die Schwierigkeit sein Macbook parallel in den Schlitz zu stecken, so dass die Anschlüsse genau an den vorgesehenen Stellen problemlos angesteckt werden. Das ist gar nicht so einfach... Nach dem zweiten Mal hatte ich bereits Kratzer an meinem USB-Steckplatz des MBA. Das liegt wohl daran, das der USB Stecker im Dock so "kratzfreundlich" ist.Also finger weg vom Henge Dock... Gute idee.. aber schlechte Umsetzung..Es sei denn ihr steht auf Kratzer an einem teuren Macbook Air...PS: Achja, bevor ich es vergesse. Danke "Henge Dock" für den Kratzer an meinem neuen MBA!

Also die Verpackung und die Verarbeitung des Henge Docks sind sehr zufriedenstellend. Das rein und rausschieben des Notebooks funktioniert einwandfrei und ohne Kraftaufwand.Außerdem macht sich das schicke Dock gut auf dem Schreibtisch und steht durch den breiten Fuß recht stabil.Ich kann die Anschaffung nur weiterempfehlen auch wenn die ca. 70 Euro recht teuer sind für ein stück Kunststoff und ein wenig Kabel mit Buchse, dafür ist die Verarbeitung sehr zufriedenstellend. Den fünften Stern bekommt es nicht da ich es mit 70 Euro ein wenig zu teuer finde.

Not a real docking station as I expected. Unfortunately it is just a vertical way to charge your mac. Nothing more!
