Good story
This book is over 400 pages which is nice and I liked the story. I did not like the editing for Kindle. Like a lot of books, this book has several story lines going at the same time. The author bounces between these story lines with absolutely no notice. You can’t tell that they have moved to another line. Until you see that the next paragraph doesn’t make sense. It would have helped a lot to have a couple of lines separating these story lines or a bold capital letter or a headline or a chapter. It was hard to read and will prevent me from reading any other books from this author. Also, many sentences end with a dash rather than a period.

Books like this, always makes you wonder.
When you read a story like this one, you always wonder, if these situations actually occur. You begin to wonder if evil is done in the name of science and security. You begin to wonder if conspiracy "crazed" people are maybe not so crazy. Let's continue to hope that it's just a thought provoking story. Good read. Terrifying, but good.

Top notch suspense
Bought my copy.First night: Opened Delta Chain for a quick look-see before bed. Big mistake. Finally zonked out at Chapter 20, and probably would have had croc-shock nightmares if I hadn't been so exhausted by that time. :)Second night: Couldn't put the book down till the final page. Propped up eyelids.Mr. Henn handled a fistful of plot threads very effectively. The bait scenes were horrifying but not gratuitously gory. The sex/romance factored in without getting gratuitously graphic. The tension ratcheted up nicely in the climactic scene. Maybe I'm a dolt, but I didn't see the final twist coming.Clean and effective use of language, with plenty of description unobtrusively worked in.Characterization of the main characters started late and was on the sparse side but that didn't spoil my enjoyment.Excellent book!

Intense and fast paced
High action with an interesting storyline and characters. Overall a very interesting read with good connections to high tech investigation and covert medical experimentation.Personally, I felt some of the scenes were more graphic than absolutely necessary and while I liked the characters, I found the two lead characters somehow not quite as individual as I'd have liked. Some of the secondary characters actually seemed more vivid to me than the two main characters. I also found the timeline shifts a bit confusing, going from the Viet Nam experiences of some of the characters back to the main story. Necessary, but a bit disconcerting. It isn't "quite" my type of book but I still enjoyed the read and I think the book would appeal more to a plot/action reader than a character driven reader like myself.

A sci-fi thriller riddled with conspiracy...
This is the kind of book I love to read...a sci-fi thriller riddled with conspiracy. It has a great plot and great characters. It's also one of those books that let you know how things work outside the U.S. In that sense, you might call it a "police procedural," but it's far beyond that. I just hope that Iain Henn has other stories to tell because he does a great job. I hope he can generate a following here in the U.S. I'd love to meet him sometime and discuss "our dark art," not magic, but modern storytelling. Recommended reading for anyone who wants to combine sci-fi with thrilling adventure. The croc scenes are enough to keep you awake at night.

Slowly Builds to Exciting Finish
This story slowly builds and you may have to tell yourself to stay with it because once it gets really rolling, it is a fast-paced and exciting thriller. There are a lot of characters, a cult, and the mad scientists, but the guy guys and girls are worth knowing and cheering along. There are a few strange twists in the story but there's excitement that'll keep your attention. As the story takes place in Australia (mostly, but a few bits are done in the Everglades), there are a few quirky language differences for us Americans to interpret. These don't distract from the story.Overall, I felt it ended better than it was moving along shortly after the story started.

The Delta Chain
I just finished the book, The Delta Chain, by Iain Edward Honn. I was riveted to the characters in this book, there were so many twists and turns that the suspense was a bit on the nerve wracking side. I found myself wishing I could read faster just to find out what was next and rest assured it was not always what you might expect.I suggest that you read this book so I wont be the only one that was on pins and needles through the entire book.My book was free to me but I will be buying more of his books. The author keeps the character to a very realistic pace and emotion. You just gotta read it.

OK thriller.
I found the story moved along very well and the central characters were fairly charismatic, although I was frequently confused by the number of people involved in the telling; especially when the "lost" children were introduced. The action sequences are realistic, sometimes gruesomely described and were frequent enough to satisfy fans of this genre. The principal villains were also suitably boo-worthy, especially the croc-hunters.I was less convinced by the main thrust of the DNA plot, I found the concept way too fanciful; sorry! I also thought the Vietnam connection, that brought the villains together in the first place, was too far-fetched to have had a lifelong effect on such diametrically opposed individuals as Vender, Asquith, Donnelly and Westmayer. This undermined my belief in the main plot. The closure was weak i.r.o. certain of the lead villains. I would have appreciated reading about a little post-arrest squirming from a couple of these bad guys. I was also pretty under-whelmed by the fairy tale, dare I say, sappy, happy ending. All in all though a reasonable, fast-paced thriller that kept me reading way after my bedtime.
