Best product for fixing a rusting car roof especially older expeditions (1997/2005)
This product is great. We use it on the bottoms of air boats, jon boats, swamp buggies, etc. This is the best product to use to fix the rusting troughs on an older expedition if you aren't going to spend 2k to weld in metal and repaint to factory. Grind out all the rust and lightly sand the roof for adhesion. Put metal ac tape along the troughs from front to back, covering the entire trough and making the roof look smooth. Be sure to dam the edges where meta mleets rubber or where you would like the edge of the repair to be. Apply this product. Do 3 coats. BE SURE TO PULL THE TAPE BEFORE CURING. Allow full cure time between coats. This stuff cures so thick and HARD it is like metal. Not only will it fix the problem, but your roof will now be smooth with no troughs to hold rain. No more rust. No more problems. Tintable to match closely to factory color.

Good product
I have an old 56β studebaker model 33 boat Iβm restoring. At first I ordered one quart of this and planned on a thin coat but decided on buying an additional three quarts and really giving it a good undercoat. The instructions on this say never to use a drill or power tool to stir it. That is bs. My first quart I mixed hardened like it should but the coloration wasnβt uniform and I had a shorter period to work with. The following three quarts I used my drill to stir it and the coloration was perfect and uniform and also hardened. I didnβt get bubbles in mine but if you do Iβm sure hitting it with an air dryer or propane torch lightly will get rid of those. I lightly sanded and cleaned in between each coat. I had initially planned to paint over this but the red pigmentation I used from the same company came out really nice so Iβm gunna let it ride. Iβm there are a few good vids for this on YouTube I recommend checking out before starting

Great Product
Great product but really really tricky to spread. Those chemical resistant foam rollers don't really work they disintegrate quickly.I did everything the instructions tell you Not to do. I mixed it with a drill. I added a little too much color tint. I applied it over a different Barrier Coat/ Primer that I had sanded with 60 grit. I ended up spreading the 9XN first with a plastic spreader/putty knife. Then when the Foam rollers didn't work, I switched to a Knapp roller, then went back over it with the foam roller to smooth it out. I did all of this outside in Florida in a fairly shaded area in 90 degree weather with a billion percent Humidity.Ohh ya I forgot to mention, I applied this on a Fiberglass Boat. The can says it works on Fiberglass, but I couldn't find any videos of anyone actually using it on Fiberglass, only Aluminum boats. That said, it came out Great!!!I haven't tested it in the water yet, but I have no doubt it's going to be a good choice.I didn't want to use a typical Bottom Paint because of their Antifouling Properties. I don't want to repaint every year.I trailer this boat after use and I won't get barnacles. This stuff is pretty smooth and tuff.If you do the prep work and find a good helper to spread it quickly. If I were to do it again, I would DEFINITELY USE 10% ZYLENE to thin it!Also find a Low shedding 1/4 roller, the big orange box store sells one, it is for cupboards, not quite fuzzy like knapp...more like a smooth soft brush (white).I know this is a long long review, but yo need to know this. The instructions on the can will help, but not enough.Good luck.I would definitely recommend.

Strong and effective
Used to seal some holes in my layout boat after finding about 6 decent holes. Used with fiberglass to repair and strengthen the layout boat. Would recommend for repairs and any epoxy finishing.

Use only neutral Steelflex if adding pigment.
This stuff is incredibly thick and should do a great job on the bottom of my Southfork Commercial flatboat.I had a few cracks welded on the bottom of my flatboat and wanted to give the hull extra protection by adding epoxy coating.I have a few more spots to paint Steelflex on and can't wait to finish her up and get back to fishing with her.

Have your ducks in a row for application
Directions and videos showed quick setup time so I chose to go with the squeegee method and tipping with a brush...Wish I had not. I applied in 78 degree temp in shade and 1 minute in i wished I had rolled it. I had at least 15 minutes before I noticed any type of setting up. Even in the 15min to 30minute stage it was not "running" but not fully set either. I mixed by hand with a stir stick for 2-3 minutes as mfg had mentioned not to use a mixer and added some pigment to part 2 prior to mixing but it still didn't go on fully colored (see attached photo).Seemed to harden up well after 48hrs.
