Headlight Restoration Kit/Defogger

This is by far the best headlight restoration kit on the market for the money. I have a friend who was going into headlight restoration as a business and we tried extremely expensive kits and we went to Advanced Auto and found this kit and we tried it and the difference adds 10+ years to your cars look. Yellowing went away and they looks like pure glass. Really glad I found this kit back in early 2000's and I continue to use it when needed. I actually cut the sandpaper in half and only use half the clearcoat and I can do two full sets of headlights with one kit. You can't beat that! I will continue to use this product as long as it's available.

I used it today and found it worked very well on my 2002 Mazda Protege. I am due for my annual inspection and the product I used last had really failed to keep my headlights clear like it advertised. It failed two years ago for the lenses and I didn't want to repeat again this year. I followed the instructions and my lenses look almost as clear as my 2012 Honda. I should have no problems with them at inspection. I hope their lifetime guarantee works as well.I plan on buying another kit for the Honda.

I got the info from my nephew I seen what a great job it did on his truck. It is great' I'm waiting for a break in the weatherto do my van,I'm sure that it will be great .

Edit: Original review was 5 stars. While the ease of use is certainly true, I wound up buying a whole new set of headlight assemblies a few months later. The lenses clouded up again, but from the sealer, not yellowing. Maybe I didn't apply enough sealer to do the job, but either way, the sanding marks began to show within a few weeks.*****I bought this kit at a local auto parts store for the same price, for use on my 10-year-old Silverado. The package easily did both headlights and both running lights, and I must say, I am impressed.The process uses two levels of sandpaper to remove corrosion and residues (and in my case, a little paint overspray from a repair job), polishing paste to finish after sanding, and ends with what is basically a clearcoat filler that erases scratches and hazing. It was easy, and all done by hand. The package suggests a time estimate of around 10 minutes per headlight, but I took a little extra time to make sure I sanded well. Their estimate also doesn't include doing the running lights.The whole process took a little more than an hour, including cleanup and a quick "shine" test. The lenses are not as good as new - no kit will make that happen - but they are pretty darned close. I highly recommend it.

I've used the 3M kits, McGuires, Mothers and others and they ALL need redone after a year or so especially if parked in the sun and elements.If the car is garage kept and does not spend much time parked in the sun then any kit will last longer.I like this kit for three reasons.1.its easy to use.2.It requires wetsanding to remove hazy spots and oxidation.3.It has a UV protectant.The wetsanding paper in the kit works well but I have on hand my own wetsanding paper 800 grit,1000 grit and 2000 grit for added support with stubborn lights and and extra smooth finish.Then I use a spray bottle for my water for the wet sanding and I use compressed air to blow off the residue and water between steps.I use the green auto body tape from the auto,parts store to take the body off.I restore nothing but mercedes Benz headlights and this kit does a great job.If someone does not like this kit then they just need to reinforce their wetsanding process which is the key to a better end result.If you get your wetsanding done right then the final uv protectant will work great.I apply the final protectant with the headlights washed clean with my spray bottle, then a final blast of compressed air to get them perfectly dry.Then apply the uv wipe from bottom to top quickly in several swipes next to each other.Fan it dry with a cardboard box flap then repeat the process......do not apply the uv wipe again until the first coat is dry as it will pull the first coat off and it will will look like a smudge.......a small smudge will appear blue'ish in color and will fan dry clear if you mess up a very small spot and won't be noticeable much at all.My advice is buy two kits in case you need more product, get extra wet sand paper, a spray bottle, compressed air makes it cleaner with less hassle and green auto body tape to,protect your paint.

Fortunately I only used it on one side. Going to go to a professional detail shop to fix my mistake of buying this $30 crap.

Seriously... DO NOT think for a second that this is a bad product.... Bought this years ago for a Mustang I had and a friend of mine was looking for similar results. Went to a store that did not have this brand and we compromised on a different brand. Well nuf said... it did not work. I went out bought this after looking where to find it and in the same day using 2 different products, CV brand beat the other brand! We have clear as day head lamps:) If anyone wants just as new head lamps for cheap without buying new ones... GET IT!! I have a new car now and do not need this BUT when that day comes when I am in need I will get this again. Just Follow the directions. Simple:)

Second time I've used this great product. Makes them appear and perform like new.
