Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters.

I remember first seeing this book on Reading Rainbow way back in the day and when I read it in 2nd or 3rd grade, I was in awe of the artwork. But most important why this is one of my all-time favorite books, it was the first ever childrens book that I read that had characters whom looked like me. I looked for this book for years.

Read it to my grandchildren along with several other African folk tales. Great addition. Message of the story was meaning and sparked interesting conversations
