Basic, plain, simple! For the absolute beginner
This book has been hyped by everyone on IG. I love Aneela Hoey and have several of her patterns. But this book is so basic that it does not warrant this price! The first 60 pages is how to pick thread, tools (such as needles, scissors, etc.) really? It goes on..... The designs are ridiculous such as embroider some X's and some straight stitches and then the actual projects......! These bags are so simple anyone who has even sewn a couple of times would not need patterns. Again simple instructions geared toward someone who has NEVER sewn by hand or machine. Sigh....sorry Aneela this is not your best work. everything in this book can be found on the Internet in mutiple places for free!

Great Projects and a Great Resource of Information
This book was just what I was looking for. The project instructions are thorough and you can learn about techniques and materials to use from the first section of the book. I highly recommend this book for someone looking for small projects that can be beautifully embellished. I was looking for a way to practically use new embroidery skills I was developing.

Another lovely book by this author. I have her other sewing organizers book and this one is just as lovely.

You'll want to make them all!
This book is full of beautiful embroidery designs and well written instructions for useful projects. Each small project (clutch, drawstring bag, etc.) has easy to follow instructions for completing the item, as well as numerous embroidery designs to choose from for making each one extra fabulous. Depending on your color and fabric choices, you can make a very modern or very vintage looking finished item. The stitching designs (which include clear instructions for making all of the different types of stitches) are suitable for other projects as well and would be lovely embellishments on all manner of things.

Pretty and Practical in One!
This lovely book brings together both the beautiful and the practical. The embroidery designs are fresh and simple - though clever and original at the same time. The easy to follow instructions make even the most complicated stitches accessible to a beginner.Once you've finished your embroidery, there are several different projects you can turn your pretty stitching into - pretty and useful.I have made a lot of zippered pouches over the last few years, but was surprised to learn a clever new technique for inserting zipper tabs. I quickly completed my first project from this book and have already started on a second.Stitch and Sew is full of beautiful projects that will make perfect gifts. It's a book I'll return to again and again. And I can't wait to try out the embroidery sampler - such a fun way to learn new stitches and practice those I know well.

A joy to stitch!
I usually stick to sewing or quilting, but this was such an enjoyable way to do something different, some slow stitching.Aneela's embellished embroidery patterns show you many different skill-building stitches that you will use in combination to make some really lovely bags.The pouches and other items you will sew are beginner friendly and are not too complicated, and the embroidered sections are wonderful small projects, perfect for taking on vacation or to work while traveling.Your end results are beautiful, and you'll feel accomplished after finishing.Plan ahead, these would be gorgeous gifts for the holidays!

Beautiful embroidery patterns!
Such a beautifully photographed and organized book full of lovely patterns to stitch. The sewing patterns are clear and simple and it’s a wonderful way to use your completed embroidered pieces. A great place to start your embroidery journey!

Really enjoying this book. Great photos, easy to follow instructions, beautiful embroidery patterns to use and all with a lovely modern feel to it. Definitely recommend if u you enjoy hand embroidery and small put together machine projects. Results are professional.
