Clear glass globe fixtures and why..
Great replacement for the glass globes which they told me were no longer available for the Progress fixtures. The Architecture Committee speced a larger Progress fixture with ugly milky globe's which didn't get the job done so I ordered these. Wish I had ordered the smaller sx inch version and maybe I will to replace these. I will repurpose these from the garage to the front and back porch...Clear lamps supplement the general lighting from the street lights and give a snap and sparkle to the building, but then you knew that from the observation of the light fixtures along the Grand blvds. of Paris eh?

It worked. We had to sand down the lip because it was just a tiny bit too big for our light.

Nearly indestructible!
Indestructible! ... okay probably not that good, but it'll take a fall from the ceiling when some screw comes loose that you didn't tighten well six months ago... It'll also take a hit from the movers and not shatter. Great for the ceiling fan in the kitchen.

Was looking for a clear globe and found it in plastic. How lucky! You get more light since it is clear and you don't have to worry about it breaking while moving. And the price is right.

No more glass globes for me!
This is the best thing for outdoor lights! No more worrying about dropping and breaking a glass globe. I bought 1 and loved it so much that I went back and bought 2 more of these for the rest of my deck lights because they work so well. They are very easy to install.

Excellent replacement for glass.
Excellent replacement for glass. We got 2 for our ceiling fans because the frosted globes did not allow enough light to shine through. I dropped one of the globes once while changing bulbs and it bounced onto the counter. I was so relieved it wasn't glass!

Looks like glass, not plastic
Does not have 4 inch extrude, but using it for a Christmas craft so can improvise, somewhat. Looks like glass, not plastic, so appearance is great.
