The Tricky Tooth (Katie Woo)

I love, love, love the Katie Woo books! I'm a reading coach with kids who are reading below grade level and Katie Woo books are a go-to for me; they always make sessions fun.Why only 3 stars? Because when I bought this, I didn't realize it's included as one of several stories in "Katie Woo and Friends."Based on past experience, I had thought all Katie Woo books are "chapter books" made up of several different stories. But apparently the books are now being sold both that way and as separate stories from those collections. You can't tell from the descriptions of the books which you're getting. It appears that the books that are just one story are slightly less expensive and if you check the page numbers you see that some of the books are several times longer than others, so that helps, but the difference should be much clearer. In any case, there's no way to tell which stories are included in which of the longer books so you could easily end up with overlapping purchases.It would be one thing if the books were completely different: some stories sold as stand-alone one-story books and other stories sold in combination with other stories to make a chapter book, but apparently they're being mixed up and all sold both ways. I want to buy "my" kid one of the multi-story books because she's very proud of herself to now be reading "chapter books" but I want to be sure it doesn't include any of the stories we've already read, especially because when we finish a book I give it to her to keep.It seems to be slightly deceptive marketing. All Amazon would have to do to fix it is to note the contents in the book descriptions. For instance, "Katie Woo Tries Something New" contains four stories: "Cartwheel Katie," "Katie's Noisy Music," "Katie Woo, Super Scout," and "Katie's Happy Mother's Day." Or "Cartwheel Katie" is also included in the multi-story book, "Katie Woo Tries Something New."

Books purchased for my 7 year old great granddaughter. She loved them. Previously had ordered the Katie Woo books for another great granddaughter.

Good for my beginner reader. My daughter is 7 & reads on a 3rd + level at last testing, and she enjoys this series for leisure fun reading.

This series was introduced by the school librarian. My girls all checked out the books. They are a high first grade to mid second grade level. My girls are asking me to buy more of this series!
