Great performance
First of all, if you're looking for HID performance out of a halogen bulb... stop looking. Not going to happen. If you want HID, either get an HID upgrade kit for $1,000+ or buy a car that has them already. This light is significantly whiter than standard headlights. It's actually a different color temperature, which moves the light color from a yellowish-white to closer to blueish-white. They are NOT blue. The bulb coloring is blue, but that's just designed to change the color temperature. They do not look blue when you look at the lights, nor do they look blue when they shine on a white surface. They're not actually any brighter, but with our eyes being better adjusted to this color light, it makes it seem like they're brighter and shine farther. I bought a complete set of the SilverStar zXe's (Headlights, High-beams, Fogs) because on my car, changing a light bulb is a full-day job (you get to remove the entire front bumper assembly), so I really didn't want to do that more than once. All of the lights match colors well, and all are much better than stock. Definitely not HID quality... but also not $250 a set either. Bottom line, buy these to get a much whiter headlight, and thus a bit more perceived visibility. Don't buy these if you think they are HID, or close. They're not. But they do what they're supposed to, and they're great at it.

2014 Honda Civic EX Coupe DRL/High Beams
Replaced the stock Sylvania EcoBright 9005/HB3 12V 60W headlight bulbs with these. The stock EcoBright bulbs are 60W because they are 'energy efficient,' but a standard 9005/HB3 bulb is 65W. These will run hotter than the stock, for that reason, and will probably not last as long, but they are worth it for the added visibility. I just followed the instructions in the Owner's Manual to replace the lamps. The Honda Civic uses the high beam as a daytime running lamp (DRL). As others have stated, when running as a DRL, the light is the same, yellowish light as the stock bulb; however, when used as a high beam, the light is clear white and noticeably brighter than the stock high beam. The color temperature of the light is perfect; it's a bright white, which makes the car look very modern, but it's not blue like high intensity discharge (HID) lamps, of which I am personally not a fan. Bottom line: much better visibility, modern looking light, still legal when used in the stock headlight housing

Love it!
Love these lights on my 2015 Explorer.. They are nice and bright, but! they are not "really" white. I measured them with my light meter and they are 4200K. And that is the ONLY reason I gave them 4 stars. They would have gotten 5 is they managed to put out 5500 or 6000k (actual daylight). That being said, I highly recommend them. They give you the white you need with no mess of wires, resistors or ballasts involved, and a factory look to boot. By the way, OEM were putting out 3200k, so nice improvement.

Very enlightening
After using many brands of bulbs in different vehicles over the years these really stack up with the best, if not the best . Using them in my 2017 honda fit as my regular headlight and foglight bulbs. Used them in a previous honda fit also. A couple friends have them in their toyotas and fords, Loving them! Seems like the average life span is about 2 yrs before any degredation in luminosity is visually noticed. Fog lights longer of course. My workshift requires that i get off at midnight so I'm loving these. Another good bulb is a brand called CIBA. Truly a Fantastic bulb!!!!

Almost White
They aren't pure white HID-style lights, as implied, but I'd say they're about 98% white with just the slightest hint of a warmer tone. They're decently bright and generate nice beams in my projector headlights. The installation is not any simpler or more challenging than any other headlight bulb, with the single biggest factor being the ease of access you have to the lights in your car.

The Sun ain’t got nothing on these! Buy!
I turned my brights on the better see a cyclist on the road. Turns out I gave him an X-ray with these bad boys! I was able to see a tumor in his body and notify him about it. It was malignant luckily but we got it out! Also, no more cleaning bugs off the front of your car! These things just vaporize them before they splat!! Buy!!

I have been using these in my Rav4 for several years. Yes, they don't last more than 1-1/2 years +/- but given how much better vision and clarity I get while driving, I think they are worth the buy...obviously. They are a bit cheaper here on Amazon than a local retailer. I did, a few years ago make a warranty claim ( they come with a 1yr ) and were replaced with no issues. These are the brightest you'll get before going to full expensive LEDs which on some older vehicles require additional electrical components to run, so these are the next best thing

Pros - fits perfectly on vehicle - brighter than the oem bulb - low beam and high beams Cons - DRL looks dimmer if I have this bulb installed - not white at all. not even close. looks bright yellow - kind of pricy

Bought these for a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The part # chart shows 9005s as the match, but my Cherokee has part # 9012. Turns out it could have either 9005s or 9012s depending on when your Cherokee was built. I recommend you take out the old bulb FIRST and confirm the part # on the bulb. I ended up ordering the 9012 version of these same bulbs and they fit and look excellent. Also, no fault of the bulb, but these are not the easiest to install. You need to access the headlight compartment from the front wheel wells (behind the plastic moulding and inside a water-sealed compartment). Watch a YouTube video to see how it's done or have a shop do it if uncomfortable with the process.

Fairly bright but not much brighter then the silverstar ultra bulbs they manufacture. These were more impressive a decade ago. LED would be the way to go but I don't want to screw around with a conversation kit or get LED bulbs that poorly direct all of that light when put into a halogen headlight casing. These are significantly better then standard factory replacement bulb with a 1/4 of the life span as well. Be prepared to replace every 9-11 months
