I received the Grow Hobby LED grow light in just a few days after ordering it from Amazon. The light is a high quality bulb which fits in a normal socket. I was impressed by the heavy duty cast aluminum housing. This is a well built unit not a cheap Chinese knockoff. Im new to gardening and started some plants from seed and I’m AMAZED at the results. I had the seedlings under a normal light until I received this from Amazon. Let me tell you, i normally don't write reviews but this product deserves it. Your plants will absolutely LOVE this light. The growth I’ve seen since they have been under this lamp is incredible. You can see in the course of a day or two healthy, green, vibrant growth.The company is very supportive, service was excellent when I had questions. According to the manufacturer, the LED’s in the lamp are Red and Blue with a ratio of 9:3 red to blue. The wavelengths of light produced by the grow lamp are 660nm (red) and 460nm (blue). The exact wavelengths for the most efficient plant growth and chlorophyll production. It only draws 12 watts of power, a little more than three nightlights. It runs cool and as the manufacturer states is perfect for seedlings and young plant growth or to supplement adult plants. The unit is very efficient at producing light converting every watt of power to 85 to 90 lumens per watt. Do yourself and your plants a favor and buy this light. I have nothing to compare this bulb to because I have never tried growing anything before. It doesn't get hot and I started with seeds and they all have begun to grow. I have a small plastic greenhouse in my home (Florida is too hot outside I think to have a greenhouse it will be too hot) where there is not much sun. The bulb gives the seeds what it needs to grow. I leave it on all day because it doesn't get hot and I couldn't find anything on the Internet saying differently. One thing that really helped me go forward with this purchase was the fact that the business owner responded to my posted questions and that impressed me that they were engaged with the comments and questions on their product.

light only covers a tiny area and goes out with the slightest bump. if you are growing one tiny plant that isnt sensitive to sudden shifts in light it might be a goodf idea, or if you are a fan of spending money on poorly made objects, this might just be the light for you.

This is a very solid bulb with a great led ratio for proper lighting toward plants. Power consumption is small and can be let on with out concern of $$... i waited until I used it for both starting seed and actual growing of plants, it worked flawlessly for both. Unit came well packaged and is encased with a large heat sink so over heating is not an issue. I have used countless bulbs in past and had varied success/failures, this bulb has exceeded my expectations and will be purchasing more, since I have a several growing areas.

By appearance more emphasizing and richer in the red, blue components than my other lights, and more efficient without the unnecessary middle spectrum. Heat is low and dispersion appears good; all LED were firing. The weight is heavier than others but that's easily secured adding a 2nd twist-tie. The plants like it just fine.

This light is very well made. Just pulling it out of the box I could feel the heavy weight of it. It looks like a high tech space-aged device. The eerie purple glow it gives off is exactly what young seedlings need in conjunction with sunlight. Living way up north makes it tricky to start plants indoors. Our sun is weak in March and April (when tomatoes and other veggies need to be started) and window sunlight isn't enough. This light makes a great addition to any midwest/northern belt growers who start seeds indoors and need a boost to their seedlings.

I was quite pleased with results over the winter. My studio apartment window was too chilly even with insulation. Hence the bulb hung from inside a clamp light over a table of African Violets, terrariums and aloe. All responded well. A timer at the outlet enhanced the use.

This light seems to be a quality product and after just a few days I have noticed my plants growing faster than before I added the light. They seemed to sprout their first true leaves overnight, after having hung around doing not much for a week before I added the light. Also, the wattage is so low that it doesn't even register a draw on our limited solar set up, using it for 14 hours a day. I am very satisfied and would recommend this light to other customers.
