Shades over our pool
Living in Louisiana our pool was in direct sun light all day, water temperature felt more like bath water. We hung our shade sail over the pool, dropped water temperature by 10 degrees and gave us shade in pool!

Perfect fit
Needed it earlier in the summer during the heatwave, but look forward to the next hot spell. After careful measurment, I ordered two of these because they were ideal for my southern exposure deck. I also had a local fence company weld me up a couple of 9 foot galvanized fence posts with custom crosspieces on the top and special holes drilled in them so that I could bolt them to my existing deck railing. That, along with the recommended mounting hardware that is often suggested when ordering these shade sails from Amazon and I had it up in no time. I wish it was waterproof, but no matter. We usually don't sit outside when it's raining because it's usually too cool for us then. Our 20' x 13' sail provides adequate shade for most of our dining room and kitchen windows which are adjacent to the deck. I mounted the brackets about 9' up from the deck on the side of the house and attacked them to the top of my custom railing posts at a height of about 8 feet. That leaves plenty of clearance for full view out both windows while still providing shade to most of the kitchen and dining room and a good portion of the deck. It was a little inconvenient that the seller would not ship this item to Alaska, and it cost me a little extra to have it mailed from my parents home out-of state, but I'm still happy to have it. The custom welded fence posts were a bit pricey too, but I believe they are necessary so that the sail will hold up in moderate breezes. I'll definitely take it down during storms though, so it doesn't shred.

Very Pleased - Made our Deck Livable in Sunny Weather
This really transformed the way we use our deck in the summer. We get full sun from 10-7 during much of the summer and the deck is too hot to enjoy. The hardest part was placing one post in super-packed clay. I tied into other post already present for the other (a 38" post, part of the deck support that is also used for deck railing by attaching a 7' post to it - it really didn't look bad or out of place). It takes some adjusting and readjusting as the material stretches but now after 4 months, I think it's done. I've only dropped it once during a storm front. It's held up very well. I wish I could get some of the wrinkles out but they're not super noticeable.Update 8/3/22Still up, still holding up well through a lot of bad weather including a hailstorm that ended up being a roof replacement. (We do take it down in the winter of course). And the wrinkles went away soon after my initial review.

Awesome product that really transforms your outside space
The thing is such a value. Added it to my deck which is usually not usable after about 10 am when the sun peaks the house due to heat. This provides a perfect amount of shade. It’s been up over a year now and has withstood wind and rain without any issues. Easy to install. I do suggest choosing an size that’s about 12-20 inches shorter that what you need and get you some good turnbuckles at the hardware store. Also get some eye bolts and lots of S hooks to connect everything. Make sure to fully extend the turn buckles, hook everything up, and then start tightening down. You’ll have to tighten everything further after it rains for the first time.Don’t miss this great product.

Life changing!
This shade literally changed our life outside. We have a pool without any patio shade. It's been miserable sitting out to watch the kids swim. This shade blocks so much sun/heat in the hottest part of the day and makes it enjoyable out there!

Restocking fee is 20%
To be able to get the measurements that I asked for, the shade had to be stretched more than the supports can take. I also didnt like the 20% restocking fee.

Be Sure to use sturdy cable to hang
This is a sturdy sail shade. I recommend using sturdy, thick cable to hang it. Also put it on a turnbuckle to help tighten it. We initially used some the wasn't so thick and it broke, several times. It also definitely helps to use a come along to help tighten the shade before adding the permanent cable. It does the hard work for you.

Perfect solution for sun and heat!
For the past few years we have been searching for a solution to the tremendous afternoon summer sun the front of our house gets. Short of permitting a big expense for a front porch roof addition I came across this sun shade. We still get just the right amount of sun filtering through but the oppressive heat is no longer an issue. It has also made the front of the house feel like an extra living space we weren’t able to enjoy previously. We did also add galvanized wire through each side in order to make the shade sturdier and less susceptible to wind gusts. Wish I had found this sooner!
