Great photo's!
In addition to gorgeous natural photography of flora & fauna, the layout of the pages and the size of this weekly engagement calendar make it a great addition to my desk at home. The quality & feel of the paper is very nice and its FSC certified. At the top of each page is a mini calendar for that month and in a larger font, the current month. U.S. holidays are included, as well as some foreign holidays, (handy for those of us who work with colleagues in overseas offices!). Phases of the moon, some celestial events, as well as equinoxes, etc are also noted on the appropriate days, which I think is a nice touch. At the bottom of each [weekly] photo page is a [very brief] description of the featured photo. Also included in the back pages are 3 pages for "notes" and 12 month calendars, [1/2 page each].The photography, overall quality and functionality make this calendar a value for the price and a great gift for either yourself or someone you like!Although the majority of my calendaring is on my ipad, there's nothing like sitting at my desk at home and taking a moment to stare at the photo of the week; it's really restful and calming.I also purchase the Audubon Society's annual engagement calendar and keep it on my desk at work.

Still the nicest of all engagement calendars
I've been using the Sierra Club engagement calendars as mini journals for more than 25 years and I've saved every single one. I just jot down a few notes about what I accomplished (or didn't accomplish) each day and who I talked to, etc. The older I get the harder it gets to remember what I had for lunch, let alone what I did 20 years ago, so it's nice to be able to flip through these and read about my own life :)One of the things I've learned about myself in doing this is that there are certain things I'll never come to terms with (like being organized or moving some place WARM, lol) and yet it's cool to read about the things I did do well: books I've written (I'm a writer), places I've been, new friends I've made. If you're lucky enough to be young, in your teens or 20s, take time to keep a daily journal, you'll be glad you did.The photos (I'm also a photographer by trade) have remained consistently high over the years and they're always inspiring and interesting to look at. Some of the best nature photographers in the world are represented here.A great gift, to yourself or to a friend.

Old-fashioned calendar for the actual top of my desk (and not my desktop)
This is the smaller engagement calendar and I'm using it to have a written account of where I go so I can calculate mileage. I also use Google Calendar, but sometimes this is quicker and easier for share at home. The photos are always top notch and refreshing. I can daydream about places I should go and also be inspired to photograph more creatively. So it's on my desk top next to my desktop (mac mini). My husband doesn't have to turn on his computer to figure out where we've been and where we're going. Although, he then needs the computer to check maps. More tech doesn't necessarily save time.I also understand that cursive is becoming a lost art so at least I'll get some practice.

nice basic planner
This is a nice BASIC planner. The thing I like about it is that there aren't very many "filler" pages (address books, to-do lists for each month, pockets, etc.) so the planner itself is quite thin. It's basically a page for each week, and on the facing page is a beautiful photograph of nature- anything from animals to abstract-like images of geological features. There's also a bit of white space around each photo and at the top and bottom of each calendar page for jotting notes. The only issue I have with the planner is that the pages are glossy and thin, so it takes a while for any ink to dry without smudging AND it's hard to write on the planner with pencil. But I appreciate the minimalistic, clean design and the gorgeous photography.

My Archive
I have been using Sierra Club Engagement Calendars for as long as I remember. At least back to the 1970's! They are saved together and are so useful when my son calls and asks me what his address was in 1999 - just joining the Marine Corps! The pages have beautiful photographs for every week and there is enough room to record birthdays, Doctor appointments and days we want to remember ("had a wonderful lunch at xxx with so-and-so", "was snowed in today!") in each daily division. There is also space at the back to record phone numbers and addresses.I know people use their cell phones, computers and tablets for all this - but I still like to hold a physical object in my hands. And I'm a confessed Pack Rat!

Beautiful images in a great calendar format
The pictures are beautiful in this calendar, as always. But as always, the only beef I have with it, is that the glossy stock it is printed on, makes it difficult to write in anything but pen on the pages. So if I have to change anything, even if it is written in pencil, it is impossible to erase. . . But it's a small problem for a year of beautiful images to accompany my days. And there is plenty of room to write what I need to write for appointments, which is nice too.

My Favorite Engagement Calendar
Although everything seems to be electronic these days, I still prefer a paper engagement calendar for my personal use. I record all sorts of things in it - appointments, vacation information, exercise, etc. I purchase the Sierra Club Engagement Calendar every year (with a couple of exceptions, which I later regretted). The paper is of decent quality. The spiral binding makes it easy to flip through the pages. There is one week per page (see customer image). There is ample writing space for each day. Best of all, the photos of the animals and scenery are absolutely amazing. I especially like it when I discover a picture or two taken in my own state. It makes me appreciate my surroundings that much more.

Quicker than electronic ones!
I love this diary/calendar. One week to a page and I find it's quicker than using the diary apps !! Added bonus of fantastic photos too. Been using one for years.
