Watchable
A simple telling of a great event. Watchable... but don't sit with your Torah on your knee!!!

Too much fiction.
Not bad as a film, but this strays much further than most from the biblical/historical story. Others from the same source have been better in this respect.

Wooden or what?
Wow. W.O.W. Wooden or what? It’s been a long time since I have seen anything so underwhelming.Fair to say most of the enjoyment comes from laughing about how bad this is.No money was wasted on the sets. The palace seemed to be some sort of small cardboard model. The luxurious food at the feast looked like it had been provided by fisher price.Queen Vashti screamed like Barbara Windsor in a carry on film.King Xerxes had a total lack of presence and charisma. His right hand man looked like a Welsh prop forward. The great beauty that was Esther looked pleasant enough I suppose, as did the daughter of Haman ( or Harman on the DVD box) even though she was supposed to be ugly. The biblical book of Esther is well known for the fact that God is never mentioned. The adaptors for this film made up for this big time with refereances to God and Jewish scripture verses in every breath. The opening part of the story is painfully slow. Once Esther is queen it goes off like a runaway train. It is unfortunately another example of poor Christian film making.Perhaps the whole thing is summed up as Haman looks slightly irritated at being condemned to death.

One star at most!
I was thrilled to see this video of the shelf of a large, well known supermarket. I bought it with great anticipation. Even as I began to watch I felt very disappointed. The story as told in the film is nothing like that told in Scripture. It touches the Biblical narrative in only a few places. The acting, generally, isn't great either, to be candid. Am I glad I bought it? No! Would I recommend it to others? No! Would I sell it on an auction site to cut my losses? No! Did I waste my money? Oh yes. I don't have any pleasure in writing this review. I would prefer to be positive. Sorry!

Delighted to find this in Supermarket - but....
The book of Esther is a wonderful dramatic and powerful message. The casting, acting, props and story is so bad it made me think I was watching "carry on Esther" Pointless adaptation there are better versions.
