36" Flat Back Wheel Sets
They worked great. So much so, that I ordered two more cards of them. The plastic wheels that come on the Bachmann cars aren't even round, nor do they have centered axles. These metal wheels reduce rolling friction and lower the center of gravity of the cars because they weigh more than the origional plastic wheels. That is good. While you are ordering replacement parts, get some extra car couplers made by someone other than Bachmann. Some aftermarket couplers have a tiny, real metal coil spring in the coupler while the couplers on the Bachman cars use a plastic leaf spring that doesn't return all the way, causing cars to un-couple when the train is in reverse. Also, don't buy Bachmann's switching track unless you plan on switching the track when the train is going real slow. The Bachmann switching track de-rails the train at medium and high speeds. I am not happy with the quality of Bachmann products - even as a child's toy. But.Ttese replacement metal wheels are a great improvement to the Bachmann train cars.

Does not work on Jingle Bell Express
These do not work for Jingle Bell Express. The width from needle point to needle point is slightly larger than the one on tires that came with the set (which are 33" I guess). After putting these in the wheels turn with a lot of friction. I wish Bachmann published a list of sets that these would fit.

Smooth rolling wheels
Replaced the cheap plastic wheels on a Bachmann set, much smoother rolling, help keep the weight lower, and the sound is improved (metal on metal versus plastic on metal). Watch out for the pointy ends, they bite! :)

No quality control
Out of 120 wheel sets, all where gaged too tight, 100% . Had to manually twist a wheel on the each axle to put it into correct gage, using an NMRA standards tool to verify. Also 4 wheel sets had a burr on the needle point making them useless. One wheel set did not even have a needle point, it was just flat. Poor to no quality control. Junk at a premium price. Unless you like sore finger tips, forget these wheels and buy Walthers or Intermountain.
