If planted in dirt do u take the sponge off of it

I did. I divided the bunch into 2 clumps, took the weight band & sponge off, and planted in two 4" pots with a mixture of dirt & sand--nothing special. Put in bottom (2.5' deep or so) of pond. Growing nicely. I think the goldfish like to nibble on them tho.

They are not from China. They from the Amazonas river in Brazil, South America.

What type of climate can these plants survive in?

82 degrees is ideal for these plants submerged in an aquarium.

A tiny little snail came with my plants, should I be concerned? I only have two new Guppies in my 5 gallon tank.

Depends on the snail. If it's a pond snail for example, they clean the tank nicely, but unless you have loaches or something to eat them, their population will explode and you will have an infestation, they'll clog the filter. I'd clean the plant and put it in a weak bleach solution (separate of the fish). You can google the ratio.
