The German Shepherd Dog (The Terra Nova Series)

I bought this book for my husband and myself to prepare for a German Shepherd puppy. Our pup is beautiful and very happy, but he definitely has a stubborn streak! This book has been so helpful in preparing for different stages in our dog's life and helping our dog become a well=behaved member of the family. Tank is our "baby boy," and has brought and continues to bring great joy into our lives.

My friend says he wants a GSD. My family has owned several over the past forty five years. I wanted to make sure he was informed as possible, specifically on GSDs and how hard raising a puppy can be. As well as being realistic about a large protective breed that requires lots of socialization.And learning about the shedding. He will need a good vacuum cleaner and broom. Yes they are beautiful and majestic but you need to be prepared before you purchase a GSD versus another breed.

Pretty book but the size is rather small.

It was a present for my niece ( 11 years old ). She loved it. She said it is easy to read and with many useful tips.

Great book

It's a great book for someone who has never owned a GSD. I have owned other GSD's but my two daughter's are reading it as she grows and have read most of the book, the youngest is 8 and she can now tell you all about a GSD.

This book is full of great information and it helped us as previously we had all small dogs. Great for training and just knowledge in general.

Great book if like German Shepherd breed and great book for your library

This book gives knowledge on a over all history ,what you must know to take care,feeding,common diseases and basic training of German Shepherd Puppy Bi can not be used as a handbook to raise a pupy

I purchases this book to learn more about German Shepherd behaviour. Unfortunately, the only section really applicable to German Shepherds is the History section. The other sections about puppies, health, behaviour, etc. are very generic and apply to most dogs of the same size. It's great that all the photos have GSDs but the information is not very specific to the breed except for some tips in the margins. If I would have picked this up in the store, I would have put it back on the shelf and looked for another book.
