Is it possible to use Skype on iPad first generation?

I am pretty much a beginner myself. I understand SKYPE will not work on V1 because there is no camera.Sorry I could not answer it better.

if i buy an at&t 1st generation (i only see at&t ones 1st gen for sale) can i activate it through verizon? or am i stuck with at&T?

Go to a verizon store near youand ask. I bought my first generation apple ipad through amazon and took a class free on using the ipad. Why don,t you check whether there is a 1st generation apple ipad on saleat amazon.
