Gives a good look to a locking gas door
This is the exact fuel door that was on my truck when I bought it I had to remove it at a gas station because I lost my key so I had to buy this one to replace it, it fits exact and locks pretty securely and I like the look it gives the truck

Total pain to install, if it even does.
No matter how hard i tried, it would never fit flush. there are two pieces that come with it to help make it fit to screw on...... well those two pieces broke because a chevrolet isn't made with sheet metal..... it's much thicker. Best to just buy from the dealer or your local shop to make sure it's a great fit. i do not recommend this product. it was awful. it was obvious the designer had never fitted this product on before manufacturing it.

easy install
had to drill 2 holes on my Silverado HD. but went on pretty easy and looks good .Will last longer than other brand that is chrome billet steel. but they leave out the steel when advertising. this one is chrome billet aluminum that won't rust and is still durable. nice to have lock .it keeps the kids with 4 wheelers from sucking out your gas.

Great buy.
This is a dressy and safe way of locking up your tank. In todays vehicles just putting a locking cap on will not work due to it tripping your dash light to come on and costing fees to have the dealer reset it and tell you that aftermarket caps will trigger codes. Crime covers are cheaper but the real deal is a much better investment for a very little more. Very easy to install.

Easy to put on
Easy to put on. First trip through the salt and it pitted and blistered something terrible. I do not recommend this product.

Requires some grinding to fit.
I disliked needing to grind the latch plate to match body panel. Rubber thru hole anchors were terrible. I ended up using rivet nut tool for 4mm screw. I had to manually bend cover plate and flange to fit. I had cover plate painted to match body panel. I was able to use OEM gas cap for reliable EVAP operation.

Fit is not perfect but looks good and a lock is helpful
A few things to consider that echoes what a few other helpful reviews have mentioned. this is a completely flat door that fits into a curved spot. When you compare this to the gas door on your fleetside truck, you will instantly see that the OEM gas door has a curvature to it. This does NOT. As such, you end up with, at best, two flush sides and a small (2mm? ) gap on top (that you will notice) and one on the bottom that you can't really tell. The hardware seems good. The door hinge seems sturdy. The keys are simple and they give you multiple copies. Installation for the most part is straighforward. Took me about 15 mins. I have seen a lot of comments on the poor quality of the finish on these- not something I can comment on as of yet as I installed it yesterday. I'll likely as a preventative measure blast the insides of the door and the hardware with some anti rust oil. If corrosion/pits start popping up in a few months as others have posted, I'll update.

Is this cheap? Will it rust fairly quickly?
I’m waiting til summer to put this on. With my luck it’ll rust if you look at it That’s the way my luck is going on here I WILL update this

chrome starting to bubble
This fuel door was installed about one year ago, and since then the chrome plating is starting to bubble and flake off. I've applied a clear coat paint to it in hopes of slowing down the deterioration. If it gets worse I will just strip off the chrome and paint it black. The lock is trivial to pick or rake, so its just visual security.
