It works! Blocks those unwanted calls!!
This particular call blocker requires Caller-ID, and I had to fiddle around with the wiring (with a phone line splitter purchased from Radio Shack). I really had to scratch my head to figure out the instruction manual - obviously written by someone whose first language is not English. . . .But the device is now installed and working, and I'm no longer plagued with calls from "Client Svcs Inc" or "Toll Free Caller" that come in droves starting at 8:30 a.m. every Sunday morning and continuing through the dinner hour. If one of those calls comes in while I am at my desk, I can see the information on my Caller ID and the desk line rings once. The kitchen phone (line where the device is) rings only starting with the second ring. If I didn't keep the ringer turned off in the bedroom, all calls would ring there (blacklisted calls only once).Definitely, if you have Caller ID, I recommend this product enthusiastically. If you don't, look for a model that works without Caller ID (if available, perhaps in the planning stages?).This device really lowered my stress level! How did I ever live without it?

Not exactly as advertised
Typed instructions poorly written. In order to manually add a number to the blacklist you have to push "Set" on the device, turn on your phone, push its "4" key, then use your phone to type in the number. If you type in a number 1 first, the phone dials the number you are trying to blacklist before you are done if you are not fast enough. This device somehow made me auto dial a stranger several times while manually adding a number. This person was very angry and yelled at me several times on the phone. Not cool.My device has only picked two numbers after the dozen or so call I have received. The ONLY way I can add new numbers to the blacklist is to look up the number on my phone' s caller ID and add it manually. There is no explanation regarding error messages. I finally realized that "rEP" means repeat, meaning you have already added that number.Date has reset itself to 2012 three times. Finally gave up on resetting date. Don't need the date for this thing to work.I hope that this device actually blocks numbers on its blacklist but only time will tell.March 12, 2014, UpdateI have tried it in with a "parallel" set up. Rather than using a splitter, I plugged the unit into an active phone plug in another room. The instructions mention this method for a parallel set up but the instructions don't say it so simply. With the parallel hook up, none of the manual settings work. So pushing "Set" then turning on the phone and pushing a number on the dial pad does nothing. In addition, most of the time, when a new number comes in, a tiny "new" starts flashing then all the buttons on the unit freeze -- meaning pressing any and all buttons does nothing. Unplugging the unit until all the text disappears then re-plugging it in seems to unstick it.It was not supposed to be this hard!!!March 21, 2014, Update:The online form on their websites goes to [email protected]. I have sent the them two emails. In each case, the answers they give did not address my questions. I can only conclude they don't know that much about the product they are selling. This product should at least have an online forum so users can try to answer each other's questions as emailing them is useless.July 7, 2014, Update:Had a phone company blackout for four days. Once phone lines were working again, device kept previously saved blocked numbers list but no longer blocks calls. It also does not register new numbers. Emailed company for replacement since it has a two year warranty. Apparently I bought from The Nekid Cow. They gave me a address for the return but no RMA, so I just paid $10.26 to return it for a replacement. $10.26 is a about one quarter of what I paid for it in the first place. So, I am lowering my rating from two stars to one star.

Silence is Golden!
This is my updated review (down-graded):One year ago I purchased the "Pro Call Blocker 2.2" device which still shows the caller's number, my phone no longer rings when a repeat call from the blocked numbers occurs. There is a bit of learning curve to learn how to operate it (I keep the instruction sheet handy for reference). Since installing it, I have blocked 200+ telemarketer/scam numbers. I'm shocked at how many illegal, unsolicited calls I get in spite of being registered on the National Do-Not-Call list. This device is now blocking only about 20% of spam calls now, which helps but far from what I was hoping for. The spam callers learned how to defeat "blacklist" call blockers by frequently changing their fake caller ID number. After searching for a better solution, I recently bought and installed a Sentry 2 screening, whitelist and blacklist device and removed the Pro Call Blocker. I IMMEDIATELY enjoyed complete peace and quite as it is preventing 100% of spam calls so far. Much more effective -- awesome device! I highly recommend it instead!

Probably want to stay away, I think the business has closed.
I purchased this unit in March of 2014. It was a little hard to get setup but I figured it out and have been enjoying the blocking of telemarketers and political stuff, strange numbers. Anyway, the unit now after sitting for some time will not respond to any button presses. As with a computer, I unplugged the power to the unit as in the telephone 'line' input until the screen fades completely away. I then reconnect the line and it functions again but it loses the date and time settings. I haven't been bothering with resetting that part.I finally got fed up today and tried to contact the company that said I had a 2 year warranty.....all email addresses are being bounced as undeliverable. I called the number from their website and there was a message telling me to leave one and they would call back but I would bet a decent sum that they are done. I hope the unit at least still blocks the numbers even though I have to reboot the thing to manage it. At least it doesn't lose the call history or the numbers in the blacklist.I wish I would have paid what they are asking for the unit now. I paid $59. I don't understand why there isn't a solid company that can make a product like this. They do it on cordless phones except the number of calls you can block is limited to about 20 to 30 numbers. I actually think there is an effort to keep devices like this from being made. Buckle up folks, we're in for a ride.
