works well, easy to use
It works like a pencil sharpener and tapers to the shape of most standard glue on tips. Very sharp, easy to use even for beginers.

It does what it's supposed to, and it's VERY portable!
I like having these little taper tools. This tool works great for tapering 5/16 in. wooden dowels for gluing on knocks and creating arrows. One tip I suggest for making arrows though is that you should taper your arrow BEFORE applying any sort of sealer or finish to your arrows. It makes the tool VERY difficult to use when you try tapering an arrow that has a finish on it because it wants to gum up inside of the tool. Other than that this tool does what its supposed to do. Basically just like using a handheld pencil sharpener.

Shavings get stuck between blade and plastic.
Broke first use, shaving got stuck between blade and plastic. I kept cleaning it but it did the same thing.

works well on wood shafts
Works just like a pencil sharpener. Tapers were accurate and was it was quick. I don't know how long it will stay sharp or if the blades can be resharpened but I only needed it for 12 cedar arrows . It worked great. I gave it 4 stars only becauase I don't know how long it will last. Will update later.
