Reflex Sight Finder by Scientifics Direct Astroscan

First one didn't work. Seller promptly sent a replacement. Excellent customer service! However, you can definitly buy a superior sight for the same money. Spend your money on a better sight.

this doesn't fit the Astroscan telescope. The curvature of the mount is different than the curvature of the telescope and the battery would not stay connected to the contacts when testing it before installing. Fortunately, I was able to return both of them. I may try adapting a viewfinder from an old telescope but I haven't looked into it yet. If you bought this, I suggest not trying to make it fit. Once you drill into the scope, you can't undo it. I had reasonable expectations based on the product description but it simply doesn't fit or work properly.

Having to mount this thing by screwing sheet screws into a classic scope was not something I was prepared to do for any accessory regardless of how use full. Would love to be posted another method. Additionally the sighting scope accessory is. A cheap Again knockoff and our of the two ultimately sent to me, only one worked. That said, what used to be Edmond Scientific, went over and beyond in threat attempt to please me and would certainly do biz with them again.

I found it hard align on my old model Astrosan. The attachment plate (supplied later) reqired drilling holes to bolt in place for permanent alignment, which I was loath to do on my trusty old Autoscan, even though the red dot feature might be an asset.

The unit in the original shipment arrived with a loose glass (where the red dot appears). After calling the shop, a new unit was delivered promptly at no charge.
