OK, so the second book is not a sequel, blah blah. So the publisher wanted extra money by splitting a 1200 page book in half. Who cares??!! I bought both books used for about $15.00. And guess what; I didn't have to file for bankruptcy! This offering by Stephen King is one of his best since The Stand. Characters so real you feel like you know them; classic SK wit and dark humor, and in my opinion and ending far more meaningful and satisfying than The Stand. So if you want to get all put out by the fact that 2 books were published instead of one, you go right ahead. But you'll miss one of the best books from a master of his craft.

Pretty ridiculous and I fell for it too. I had already ordered part 2 before I finished the complete version so I was trying to figure out what the unexpected twist was going to be with part 2 since the version I had just finished had a conclusion to the story instead of a cliffhanger. After reading a little of part 2, I read ahead to see if anything changed, and then finally checked the ending of part 2 and realized I had been duped (definitely an unexpected twist). Part 2 was a rerun of the second half of what I had just read. Too bad such a good book has to be tainted with such unethical marketing.

I love Stephen King and this story is a good one BUT the publishing of this in paperback threw me off. I bought the Kindle version of Under the Dome when it first came out. Unfortunately with a Kindle you don't know how thick a book is, so when I saw Under the Dome TWO in paperback a bought it! While waiting for it to ship, I re-read the last 10% of my Kindle edition to refresh my memory of the plot and thought, "that was a satisfying ending... I wonder what TWO will bring?" When the book arrived I eagerly began to read only to find that I seemed to be mid-story. Jumping to the end of TWO I read the same last sentence of my Kindle edition's Under the Dome. They split it for paperback sales... Oh well, I can always donate it to the county jail...

I’m sure the book will be great. I can’t wait to read it. I’m almost done with part 1. But the used quality of this book is not worth $14. I understand it’s priced that high because it’s a hard copy to find…. But I recommend just getting “under the dome” that contains part 1 and 2.

I've read everything Stephen King has ever written and I'm a huge fan. This is a great story - but the TV series is entirely different. I loved the original volume and the second installment is no disappointment. It's a gripping tale, well-constructed by the Master. The basic premise is the same in the series and other than that and the characters, the rest is very different. Highly recommended.

It is very doubtful King had much input into the decision to reissue the novel as a 2 part mass market paperback. He is a popular author but doesn't control the publishing company after all. People are reviewing the publisher's decision and not the actual book. READ the product description please before you order. People who are angry about getting the second part of the original hardcover novel have no one but themselves to blame. Sheesh!

Having read Under The Dome Part 1, I decided I wanted to read Part 2, so that's what I bought. You really can't give a book 1 star unless it's a terrible book. Giving it 1 star to justify the fact that you didn't read the description and bought the wrong book makes about as much sense as slitting your throat to stop a nose bleed. And to everybody saying "marketing ploy", a 1000 page paperback is bulky and annoying, and SPOILER ALERT: this book is available used for like $4

Great read, thrilling and spine-chilling. This book is obviously the 2nd part of the novel. Read the 1st part first!!! Highly recommended!
