The Waffen SS as We've NEVER Seen it!!!
The story of Hitler's feared and admired Waffen SS legions in World War II is a chilling and fascinating tale. Their rise to elite status and their ultimate fall and fate is well worth anyone's money. There is also a neat booklet description with the video!

Not as advertised
Huge fan of all WWII documentaries but this isn't one of them. Advertised as a DVD about forgotten Nazis and yet the first 2 discs are nothing about that. The first disc is all about how the SS went thru multiple 'name changes' and the various 'purging' of other leaders Hitler eliminated to consolidate his power. That's all fine and I enjoyed the narration but how is that any information about Norway, or Polish soldiers joining the SS after they were defeated by the Germans? The packaging of this DVD set is attractive and it has a booklet inside, it just doesn't say much about the foreign troops from conquered countries who joined Hitler's cause so I don't recommend it.

Don't waste your time or money
This DVD is not even close to what it advertises to be. The packaging would lead one to believe your about to learn about those groups who sided with the Nazi war machine, not so. They are barely mentioned. I was hoping for something like IBM and the Holocaust by Edwin Black or the Nazi Doctors by Robert Lifton. Both works that expose collaboration with the Nazis by groups you'd least expect. Weighed in the balance and found wanting.

Good material, mediocre presentation
There is a lot of decent information presented, but the narration is just a step above being a monotone. I suspect the narrator never heard many of the German names for places as he does not even attempt to pronounce them correctly. The host segments are equally lifeless and lackluster, and one even looks off camera to confirm something with someone else as he speaks. This looks more like a college project than a professional production, but I have come to expect that from Madacy.
