Red

This blows my old Atlantic release out of the water, along with the 2 different CD reissues I own. Flat, dead quiet, with a fantastic soundstage. If you only own one pressing of Red, make sure it's this one.

No complaints. I love this album and it sounds amazing.

This is an album I’ve been meaning to listen to for a long time. Everything I’ve heard about it makes it seem like it’s right up my alley. The problem is that King Crimson is not available on any music streaming site; the songs aren’t even available on YouTube. I originally planned on buying records as collectibles with little interest in playing them, but when I got this, I had to listen to it. I’ve got to say, it was absolutely worth buying a record player for this and easily lives up to praise it has garnered over the years. The album is complex, unnerving, and crushing and every track is brilliant in its own way (my favorite track being “One More Red Nightmare”). An absolute masterpiece that anybody with a passing interest should seek out.

Being my personal favorite King Crimson album, Red was a must have for my collection. The record itself comes in a heavy-weight, poly-lined inner sleeve. This does a great job of keeping the record free of static and dust. The sleeve is also thick enough to support the weight of 200 gram vinyl. As far as mastering goes, this pressing blows the original Atlantic and even Island pressings out of the water. The guitar on Red always sounded a little screechy to me, but the remastering fixed most of that issue. Bill Bruford's drumming no longer sounds as if he's playing on cardboard boxes like my CD copy. John Wetton's vocals and bass are also no longer muddy, like my CD. Overall, the album is mixed extremely well. Every section of the music is balanced to maintain a steady volume. I highly recommend this pressing.

Very good quality vinly is dead quite on 200 grams.Robert Fripp delivers his promised with a Newly Cut Master for this release.The sound on this records is just pure audiophile stuffs try "Providence" to hear the good recording separation for the left and rght speakers.

Phenomenal quality of pressing, you cannot go wrong with King Crimson.

This review is only regarding the 2013 Japanese reissue of Red. The album performance is 5 stars but this Japan 2013 issue is one star because it is not pressed in Japan.I have never had this experience buying a Japanese record - the vinyl is NOT pressed in Japan. It says clearly "Made in England". Yes, the packaging of my copy is Japanese with lyric sheet and Obi. But not the pressing. If you buy this release expecting the usual high quality Japanese pressed vinyl as I did you shall be disappointed!This is not the fault of any seller, I understand that.You might as well buy any 2013 reissue of Red because they all appear to have been pressed in England - at least each of the 3 I bought trying to find a better pressing were. Disappointing to say the least.So how is this "Made in England" pressing? I have had 3 different pressings of this title now (ALL Made in England) in my quest to find a good one. All 3 had problems of some kind. Strangely, there is one problem that is present on all 3 - a loud tick in the second line of the second verse of "Fallen Angel" - specifically between the words 'switch' and 'blade'. Exactly the same. I don't know why but this sounds like something that was missed and probably affected a batch. When there are no ticks or pops, the sound is really great.I have all the Panegyric reissues of King Crimson so far - sadly, this is the least consistent by far as the others are great.Good luck and hope you find better pressings than I did.

Le retour au vinyl me pousse à commander des albums que j'affectionne particulièrement. C'est le cas ici, bonne qualité sonore.

Compre este álbum de reedición hace casi 4 años a mitad de precio de lo que esta ahora y es un álbum de categoría buen gramaje 200, aunque viene en una presentación sencilla, pero lo más importante es la musica de calidad. Musica para disfrutar no cualquier oido puede puede estar fino a este álbum
