Tone Poems for Mandolin

It appears to be a very accurate transcription of David's mandolin parts. It is definitely for the intermediate/advanced player and not for a beginner.

As far as I'm concerned David Grisman is an absolute genius. He does do some weird things though- like bend the strings on his mandolin. My God I can barely last through one of his songs before my hands start hurting. Great book though. If hard to follow sometimes on his more difficult pieces.

Clear, accurate transcriptions that really give an idea of how Mr. Grisman gets around the instrument.

I own this and the guitar one! My friend and I play out of this book daily! Its not easy but it is so rewarding when you finally can play a duet together and sound like Grisman & Rice. If your serious and want to put the time in I highly recommend it!

not for beginners!buy the CD. it's a great recording.trying to play like these guys is an exercise in humility and futility!trust me on this.- MIke

マンドリン購入したので、手っ取り早く何か弾きたいと思い購入しました。 別途CDも購入。普通のマンドリンでは無く、ボディに渦巻きがある変わったマンドリンの演奏でしたが、チューニングは同じみたいですね。マンドリン合奏用でこの中から1曲選んで練習中です。
