HTP-7P Digital Circuit Detective Pro 90-280VAC

Bought to replace a dying Ideal Analog Circuit Finder 61-532, which was pretty expensive when bought new. The Hi-Tech unit is a pretty great deal; comes with a sturdy plastic carrying case, socket and alligator clip adapters with up to a 280volt test range. I was able to find a circuit which the Ideal failed to locate. The arrow is helpful. Also, was able to test it out on some commercial 220 sockets and it worked great. Great price. The on/off is a little different, but works fine once you get used to it. I bought this because of the accessories and 280volt capability and wasn't let down.

In a short period of time I was able to map my entire home's electrical circuits (we had upgraded our service and they installed a new breaker box). This instrument works very well, there is potential for user-error, just follow the instructions and hold it with the "up" arrow up. It is necessary to make two passes for each search, just have faith and it works.

This has been the best set up. I have seen from this company.BUT Somebody did not provide the means to remove the battery cover. I think it's an awesome idea to have a storage location for the 9 volt battery.I'm guessing some engineer didn't think you might have to take the cover off. 😀

Work really well on 240v circuits. I work on commercial cooking equipment and commercial refrigerators that use 208v-240v. This works like it is supposed to, the alligator clips are well insulated and I promise you won't get shocked. You will have to remove the breaker cover panel and actually touch the wires to get a good reading on 208v-240v. If you are to lazy to remove the cover panel then don't be a dick and give this anything other than 5 stars......Well worth it.

Been using this circuit detector for years. Just bought a new one for the municipality I now work for. Very durable and trouble free, works the same as higher priced units from professional tool companies. Just as pleased with this unit as I was with the last one. Highly recommended, and it works with 277, which is a huge bonus.

Excellent team, it shows that it is very professional .. I really recommend it, the included battery is much appreciated. It has given me exact measurements without any errors. On the other hand I think the power button is very sensitive and can be turned on by itself, but it looks very good quality at a spectacular price. I would like you to detail how to use it in 220 circuits.

Very useful and accurate. I've used it in commercial panels and at home with ease. The only dislike I have is that the toner is a little loud, and the on button is very sensitive. Just barely grazing the button will reset the toner, which goes through a series of beeps and then has to relearn the panel you're working in, which can be somewhat annoying but overall a great tool.
