10 blank tracks?
Update: the seller contacted Seton Home Study, the producer of the discs, who sent a replacement set. However, the second disc of this new set has the same issue: tracks 2 through 11 are blank. The seller says that they have never had this complaint before, so I'm baffled. I am not sure if any content is actually missing as disc 2 track 12 picks up at lesson 12, after disc 1's last track at least begins lesson 11. Why there are ten blank tracks before track 12 seems a mystery. The seller has been helpful but has referred me to Seton at this point if I want to pursue the issue further. So, I'm upgrading to 3 stars but not higher since I still have a defective (to some degree) product.Received this set today and the jury's out... tracks 2 through 11 on the second CD seem to be blank, each 6 seconds long and silent. Would love to know if this is the way the disc is supposed to be for some odd reason, or if this is a flaw and therefore if I can get a replacement. Will update when I find out.

The CDs are great. Excellent quality
The CD case was broken, but, I'm glad to say, the CDs themselves are of fine quality. This is an excellent product.

Very helpful
Perfect for use with the Henle Latin Curric. Just what we needed to make our homeschool high school Latin course, doable.

Good Purchase
The CD goes very well with the Henle Latin Books. The pronunciations are helpful for students who are working on improving their Latin skills.

American Romans??
I didn't know the Romans spoke with an American accent...long before America was discovered! The pronunciation of Latin on this CD does not seem to be "authentic" as the audio rendition of supposed/derived Latin pronunciation in other courses. The author speaks with an obvious American "take" on Latin pronunciation. It's a disgrace to hear especially the consonant "r" spoken with the American lateral (retroflex) equivalent. Then there's the pure Latin vowels: the speaker uses the usual American diphthonized vowel sounds in their place. Also, I didn't hear any distinction between long and short vowels. The bad news for me is that I bought this about 2 years ago, and just now opened it up to listen and take on my Latin studies. Returning the package (and whole course!) is not within the allowed period of return.I am very, if not extremely, disappointed in this audio. The textbook is good, but I will rely upon my training in Latin pronunciation otherwise to continue my studies with other courses. I recommend that serious students of Latin stay away from this course. Wheeler's is always a good choice and I highly recommend Latin Via Ovid. The latter is a wonderful piece of pedagogy, eventhough there is no audio available for the course.Buyer beware: don't buy this course and all its supplemental materials if you expect a complete learning package.
