Good Centering Music
This CD simply rocks. Some of the songs are partly in English but if not they are not hard to understand. The tempos are such that the music doesn't drag. Conversely, there are no "very fast" songs. Just mostly mellow 3/4 time devotionals. Good for listening to in heavy traffic for me because the songs calm me down!Honored are MA, Harinam, Adi Shakti (this one is a tad faster, but still mellow and centering. Nice guitar accomplish, and Guru Ram DasIf you don't like repetitive chanting this is probably not for you.

I love this album in my yoga practice
I love this album in my yoga practice. My first yoga teacher used MA for final relaxation so I associate that song with it. In fact, I used it in final relaxation in the very first class I taught as a tribute to her and how she instilled the love for yoga into my own heart.

Great album!
This is a really nice, relaxing and inspiring album. I wished they had included Aisa Naam in the album, which is in the same spirit and an amazingly beautiful song (see youtu.be/TPPQ-xyYSyE), but it is possible that this song was written and performed only later.

Bountiful, Blissful And Beautiful!
"Pure Ganesh" by GuruGanesha Singh (2006)Following on from the success of his delightful 2004 album " Grateful Ganesh ", this next offering from GuruGanesha Singh (GG) maintains the highest quality musicianship throughout, whilst demonstrating further development of GG's heart-warming approach to mantra. As with its predecessor, on "Pure Ganesh" GG again delivers six beautifully crafted mantras, each lovingly performed with warm, breathy, heartfelt vocals accompanied by tasteful, unobtrusive instrumentation. The full album track list is as follows:1. Et Ong Kar (7'55")2. Ma (10'43")3. In the Light of my Soul (7'42")4. Adi Shakti (7'13")5. Harinam (7'23")6. Guru Ram Das (7'20")On "Pure Ganesh", GG demonstrates some noticeable developments in his approach to contemporary mantra. Most notably, half of the compositions in this offering combine traditional Sikh mantra texts alongside affirmations in English (tracks 2, 3 and 4). This linguistic amalgamation is made effective not only through the successful fusion of Indian and Western instrumentation, but more so, through the outstanding levels of musicianship throughout the whole album. As with "Grateful Ganesh", here the instrumental underscoring compliments the vocalists perfectly through each mantra. GG sustains his tasteful guitar playing throughout without displaying any obvious hint of soloist ego. Some familiar names from "Grateful Ganesh" feature on the album credits, including Snatam Kaur and Mata Mandir Kaur (vocals) as well as Thomas Barquee (keyboards and bass). "Pure Ganesh" also features the wonderful musical talents of Krishan Khalsa (vocals, tablas and percussion), Noah Gabriel (piano, bass and acoustic guitar), Wynne Paris (sarod) and Karta Kaur (violin and vocals).Alongside the full album credits, the CD sleeve notes provide the traditional mantra texts (and, for tracks 2, 3 and 4, the affirmations in English), as well as a brief description as to their specific background/intended purpose. The album artwork is also beautiful, depicting the elephant-headed god Ganesha, the anthropomorphised principle for removing inner and outer obstacles. Each track is an absolute joy to listen to and naming a favourite from this album is an almost task impossible to do! However, I found that a couple of tracks grabbed my immediate attention, namely 'Ma' with its inclusion of Yogi Bhajan's charming affirmation "Bountiful am I, Blissful am I, beautiful am I"; and track 5, 'Harinam'. 'Harinam' includes a magical rising modulation (key change) from F major to A-flat major but, noticeably, without moving through any passing chords. This key change is spiritually symbolic as it raises the pitch of the singing voices up in a form of musical onomatopoeia as the chant invokes the Kundalini energy to rise from the lower triangle to the uppers centres. For those of you who already own a copy of "Grateful Ganesh", you may notice that the last track on this album is also entitled 'Guru Ram Das'. However, don't panic; both use the same mantra text although their respective musical compositions are different (the one on "Pure Ganesh" is also longer). As with "Grateful Ganesh", I understand that musical purists out there might dismiss "Pure Ganesh" as not being 'authentic' to the mantra style, although this will depends entirely upon one's personal aesthetic and willingness to embrace contemporary mantra composition."Pure Ganesh" has been lovingly performed, recorded and produced with an outstanding degree of musicianship throughout and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Likewise, I highly recommend GG's other albums; in particular " Grateful Ganesh " (2004) and " Joy Is Now " (2008). Grateful GaneshGrateful GaneshJoy Is Now

Pure Ganesh
I first heard 'Ma' on you tube as it had been used on a video, Its not the sort of thing that I would generally look for when choosing music but there was something about this that really captured me. There is a decent blend of calming to faster paced music throughout the CD, ideal for times when you just want to sit and be in your own thoughts, or a perfect chant collection for meditation. The vocalist has such a pure tone to his voice I would recommend it for anyone who wants to bring some calming and spiritually lifting moments into their lives.
