Unexpected Greatness
I saw Vintage Trouble last week when they openned for The Who(the concert was amazing by the way). At the beginning they got the same respect which a lot of opening bands get...which is none but once they started playing they had all of Nassau Colieseum clapping and screaming. Their frontman moves like he's James Brown/David Ruffin and sings soulfully like them and Little Richard combined. The rest of the band brought the rock element to the performance and man let me tell you it meshed together like peanut butter and jelly. It was just an amazing atmosphere and performance that the second I got home I had to purchase their album and it was just as amazing. The mix of hard rocking songs and soulfully chilled songs was a perfect combination. I really hope they make it big and I personally think they would've been famous if they formed in the 50s or 60s but I think Vintage Trouble, as evindenced by their live performance and album, will make it and gain the fame they deserve. Please check these guys out. If you like the Who or any of the hard rocking bands of the late 60s/70s and you love the soul artists of the 50s and 60s like James Brown and the Tempetations then you will love Vintage Trouble.

Vintage Trouble sounds like a band from forty years ago
Vintage Trouble sounds like a band from forty years ago, and that's a good thing. Tight playing, instruments that sound like instruments, and a true frontman in Ty Taylor. While certain other acts seem to work to call back exactly to the sounds of yesteryear (Good Examples: Leon Bridges' fabulous "Coming Home", Raphael Saadiq's "The Way I See It" and "Stone Rollin'") Vintage Trouble takes the sound of four people playing '60's style soul music and use modern recording tech so that the sound is definitely updated, but retains enough of that vintage sound to enthrall. Looking forward to the newest recording by this quartet.

Undeniable Live Act; Album Does Not Disappoint
I'm generally not into "retro" type bands or anyone who is trying to revive the music of a bygone era. The first time I saw VT, though, I was knocked on my ass by the sheer will and determination of this quartet to get everyone in the room to share their joy. The band was tight but loose (think Humble Pie or Free); the singer (James Brown by way of Terrence Trent D'Arby?) was polished but spontaneous. The performance was undeniable and the energy was infectious. Saw them again at a bigger venue (opening for the Cranberries, of all people) and they managed to do it again. Sweat, soul, grooves and charisma just oozes from the stage. Can't recommend this live band enough.Of course, I knew that listening to their record at home would be a different story. So often, bands like this don't capture their onstage magic in the studio. But I've been pleasantly surprised to find that the band's passion and energy has indeed imbued this LP; the songs, while certainly not ground-breaking, have a life and identity of their own, thanks to the sincerity and pathos the band infuse into the proceedings. High quality songwriting and absolutely expert execution. Just buy it.

What an amazing choice. This band has it all
I saw these guys open for ACDC and after three songs, I told my wife I needed to pick up a CD. What an amazing choice. This band has it all. Great hooks, soul and a great live show. I was there for ONE thing. And it was a different band, but this band put on such a solid show, such a tremendous performance, that it was impossible not to be blown away. I listen to the songs at work and I can still picture them performing those songs on stage. That's what a memorable artist is. Someone who you literally NEVER heard before and whose music and vibe was so phenomenal that it is literally unforgettable. The albums just grow and grow on you. The musicians are amazing and the front man has charisma to burn. I'm a fan.

Stunning Debut LP
Like many others, I discovered these guys after watching "Later With Jools Holland". I decided to take a punt and try out the CD. It hasn't proved to be a disappointment - not a weak track on it. The incendiary "Blues Hand Me Down" and the more slow burning "Run Outta You" are like bookends to the disc, more rock oriented - Nalle pinching more than a couple of Jimmy Page guitar phrases and licks. There are slower more soulful tracks and tracks such as "Still And Always Will" along with "You Better Believe It" which are great call and response songs at a gig.The whole act is undeniably retro, without once having the feel of it being a pastiche. The songs are all fresh, vibrant and sounding like nobody else on the scene at the moment. They call the music Rock'n'Soul, who am I to disagree? It is the soundtrack to a great Saturday night out at that little club down the road, where you're always guaranteed a great night out

I've been waiting for a Band like this for 30 years
When was the last time you heard a Band that has Great Musicians, A Fantastic Singer, and sounds as good if not better, LIVE. I have tried to listen to this album sitting down, but after the first 30 seconds, I find myself dancing all around the room. THey look COOL, they play COOL, they Are COOL. I'm bummed they are not touring in the Philly area this summer.I'm 60 years old, with a very eclectic taste in music, it takes a lot for me to be impressed, having grown up during the 60's and being spoiled by all the Great Music of that area. Well, these guys have done it. I've bought 10 copies of this album so far, giving it out to friends and Family. THey have toured as the opening act for the Who, how COOL is that?

FINALLY! Real music with great lyrics
I am so tired of the top 40 drivel. Caught this band on a late night talk show and the lead singer knocked my socks off with his delivery. I saw glimpses of the 60's in their costume and felt tons of rock and soul in their performance. I felt like I was privy to something in the beginning stages of historical greatness. I hear they are going to be touring with The Who. I would love to see them live. My hubby immediately ordered this album from Amazon at the end of their TV performance. He is a huge music fan, from waaaay back and he knows a great band when he hears one. Watch these guys explode into fame and fortune. They give me hope for music again. Hallelujah!

Excellent!!!!

Where have they been?
My husband and I saw this band as a back-up band for The Who. I immediately fell in love with their sound. The lead singer is so full of energy that you couldn't help but move along with him. Their style is a refreshing bluesy, soulful sound. I rarely buy CD's, but I bought this CD so I could recapture the moment. It was money well spent. I can't get enough of their music! I hope to hear them on the radio; for now I'll keep it in the CD player and replay it over and over!
