Beach Day

We got this book as part of our box book collection and at first I thought my toddler wouldn’t like it. Boy was I wrong! This Book is a gem! We have read it at least a hundred times in the last few months and it is one of his favorites to read over and over again. For the people that didn’t like the writing, it is simple rhymes, but it fits with the illustrations and everything going on on each page that makes it so wonderful. On each page there is something new to observe or talk about that is happening on the beach, so I have actually enjoyed reading it with him because there really are so many great scenes. Another thing I love about it Is that the characters are racially diverse and if you pay attention from the beginning to the end you can see different things happening (like the old man walking with the white dog from his house along the beach, etc.). One reviewer said there wasn’t a plot or main characters, I beg to differ, you have to read the pictures and not just the words. Things do happen In the book and my son points out the main characters, what they are doing or whom they are doing it with. This book is like a perfect day at the beach, who doesn’t like that?

I bought this book for the beach theme month in my class and it was a hit. It’s such a simple and cute book!

My toddler instantly loved this book. We went to the beach a few weeks ago and she misses it so we got this book and it’s a perfect reminder.

My 20 month old daughter loves this book. There are lots of things that she can point out and say, like dog, baby, etc. I enjoy reading the book to her because the words rhyme and flow well.

Got this through the Amazon Book Box program. Very fun story with nice illustrations; my daughter (19 months) loves it. Good quality board book binding as well; it won’t survive months and months of abuse by a toddler (like any other board book) but it’s fairly durable for a children’s board book and looks and feels very nice.

Lot of details for your tot to spot and great detailing of images

I got this rhyming board book as part of a Prime Book Box, Reading Level Baby-2. It is a sturdy, medium-sized 30-page book.As the title implies, the book covers activities during a day at the beach. There are no stand-out characters. There is no plot, no storyline.PROS:- The book provides a good introduction to what happens at the beach.- There are things to discuss and point to on every page, including some opportunities for counting.- Characters are racially diverse.CONS:- There are no stand-out characters.- There is no plot, no storyline.- There is nothing especially compelling about this book.- There are two dogs, but they do not feature on every page. Your child will look for the dogs, especially when one is shown and the other is not.- There are no disabled characters in evidence.Overall, I just wasn’t especially taken by this book.Image of my hand included so you can get an idea of the size.

After months and months of owning & reading it my 2 1/2 yr old just recently pointed out, what I now cannot unsee, a 2nd story about a sad, lonely dog in the story. Aside from that it’s a fun rhyming story with good pictures that have lots to see in it

Book was full of lovely illustration with real life activities. I used it for my nursery in a seaside theme. We got loads from it such as patterns in the umbrellas, beach activities, sea activities, sand ect Loved the rhyming words and delicious vocabulary! Would be highly recommended for a seaside theme

My 2 year old picked this book up at a library and loved it! I knew right away we would have to buy it. We have spent hours naming all of the things at the beach. I love all the details.
