Work Ok but be cautious of rusting grommets
I purchased a total of 5 of the larger 10” x 48” carpeted stair mat. I had read one of the reviews where they noted the silver grommets on the corners rusted and stained their steps. I thought maybe it was just a bad grommet but as a precaution I applied a square of duct tape to cover the bottom of the grommets hoping it would prevent marks if there was any rust. Well the other reviewer was spot on as all of the grommets rusted in a few weeks and stained my new stairs. I believe that the duct tape, and me keeping an eye on it prevented from getting too bad and I was able to scrub most of the stains off my new stairs. I decided to remove all of the grommets; I started by drilling the center of the grommets and then pulling them out with a screwdriver and a plier. After just a few, I skipped the drilling as the rubber was pliable enough that I could just pull the grommets out with the screwdriver and plier. Why the manufacturer would use a grommet that was prone to rusting on a product made for the outdoors is beyond me.On the snow/ice melting performance; I have had one opportunity to turn them on since purchasing the mats. The temperature was 27 degrees and we had an ice storm overnight that accumulated about an inch of ice on the round. I turned the mats on at 6:00AM and the mats were clear by noon with an outdoor temperature of 32 degrees. I did notice that the mats closes to the controller unit melt first and the furthest away mat was last to melt. Not a problem just an observation. Lesson learned is that for the next storm I will plug the mats in before it starts.Overall I am pleased with the look of the mats and they did do what they were supposed to. I am very disappointed in the rusting problem of the grommets and caution anyone that buys these to be watchful of this issue. I will have to wait to see what the long term performance of these mats will be.

Great fix for slippery, snowy granite steps
We got these for granite steps which, while beautiful, become as slippery as a greased pig in a hockey rink littered with banana peels as soon as they get a layer of ice and/or snow on them. These mats are great and do a wonderful job of keeping the steps clear and they also provide traction which most people find very helpful in conjunction with steps. With the carpet finish (which the smaller version does NOT have) they look like regular high-quality mats. The mailman, UPS guy, and FedEx all love them.If there is a downside, it is that there is a lot of runoff/refreeze which can lead to icicles on the steps and ice buildup around the mats. Also, they only melt upward, so if your steps are larger than the mats, you can wind up with your own miniature Game of Thrones Wall around each mat after a heavy snow. But these issues have more to do with thermodynamics than any problem with the mats, so in this case we will address that concern with God rather than the manufacturer. Until that is resolved, you may still have to shovel the steps a bit, though at least you'll have a place to stand while doing it.

Best product I have bought all year!
WOW I'm safe this winter. I had been thinking how could fix my roof or gutter. Way expensive. Then a light clicked and I thought of heated pads. Sure enough I looked on Amazon and yes Heattrak had very affordable mats and they used 120 power. Works like a charm. No more falling down on icy walkways for me. I actually have them on my stairs and walkways. They are wonderful. First snow the other day. PERFECT!

Stopped working after less than 5 months of use! Poor customer service!
These worked great, but they only lasted one winter! This is the second winter I've had them, and they stopped working. I've emailed the seller and have received no reply. This product is a poor value; for the cost they should last more than one winter!

snow repellers
These stairmats Are awesome .they do a great job melting snow on contact. Must turn on 2 hours before snow starts and I didn't have to shovel. They will melt up to 2 inches per hour. As a system they work well but pricey if you have a lot of sidewalks. Cannot drive on them. I cannot shovel did to physical limitations so these are great. Drawback need a few outside electriioutlets whi h I need an electric Ian. I didn't order them in time for all of the blixzards we got and can't. Co.ment on cost to run them yet.

Icy steps no more
We put a set of 5 of these these on the front steps of our 110 year old house where the frozen gutters drip and cause thick sheets of ice and just like that: problem gone. No more salt (and no more shoveling!) needed. Also had the large carpeted mat at on the landing at the base of the stairs. Upped the electric bill by about $20. Totally worth it.
