We bought this to install an external generator+box on our RV. It's well-built and sturdy and we felt the price was very fair. We especially liked that the high 4-sided fence allowed us to more readily apply multiple security measures to deter theft. We had only one problem: the front fence opens at a forward downward angle, and in our particular case we would need to occasionally lift the generator out for maintenance - but the physics in this scenario allowed us no leverage to lift that 100lb beast since it was required to be dead center for weight & balance. We were bummed that we had to call it a deal-breaker for our planned use. But for the standard usage of hauling suitcases, coolers, etc.... that high fence would be perfect.

Easy to assemble, fits well on the Lexus GS we have. Would preferred a taller unit but will suffice for what we need to haul.

Great product. I've been using it for three years without issue. Carries kids bikes and a variety of other bulky items with ease, leaving room inside for more important cargo. Folds up flat for storage. I keep a few bungee cords with it all the time to secure the load and to keep it folded up when not on use. They also serve as a place to keep the corner pins with the carrier. Overall this is a valuable addition to the road tripping family. Just note that it must be near empty to access your hatch unless you have a rear window that opens independently.

Item needs a place to store the corner pins. Also it should fold up to permit me to leave it attached to my car.

This carrier is perfect for our needs. We carry cargo on vacation, and still have room in the vehicle for our dog. It is easy to put on and take off and no wind from the motion of the car reaches it, so items inside stay safe and secure. It is much better than a car top carrier and holds more than we expected. We would definitely recommend it.

Arrived with defects. Two of the cotter pins will not even fit where they are supposed to. Feeling like I wasted my money with little recourse.

I bought this carrier to haul more stuff on vacation. This Carpod carrier worked great! The wired mesh side walls are strong and held 4 suitcases and 2 folding loungers inside its cargo area. It held everything securely and made no noise at all for over 1,200 miles. It gave us extra interior space inside our van and I did'nt have to struggle getting suitcases down from a roof carrier. The Carpod is well designed, strongly made and priced right.
