Real-The 60S Collection

What gets lost in the legend and the lurid tales of life-gone-wrong for the King (a title he hated and was forever trying to escape), is the plain fact that at his best -- and in my opinion that was in the Sixties -- this guy could sing anything. And I mean with authority and authenticity. I love the fact that these three discs span the spectrum -- hit singles, classic b-sides, album deep cuts, soundtrack songs, television and live-in-concert performances. Wisely, it circumvents the obvious, over-anthologized hit titles (like It's Now or Never, Are You Lonesome To-night?) to include lesser, but no less satisfying titles (like Such a Night, Devil in Disguise, She's Not You). It also features great, if somewhat forgotten flipsides (like Witchcraft, You'll Be Gone, Blue River), deep-cut ballads (like I'll Remember You, Gentle on My Mind -- yes, done as a soulful ballad!), and some great blues and r&b (like Long Black Limousine, Reconsider Baby, Stranger in My Own Hometown). Three discs filled to the brim with great music at a bargain price; who could ask for anything more? Highly recommended.

As someone who has been following Elvis's career since first encountering him on an aircraft carrier with Milton Berle doing the intro, I ordered this collection with no expectations to speak of- other than the fact that I've always believed his artistic highpoint covered the period from the Elvis Is Back LP to the Viva Las Vegas EP. Anyone who has been paying any attention at all, knows that this material- all of Elvis's work- has been packaged,repackaged, stripped, remixed and resold in so many variations that RCA couldn't possibly find a way to sell it that might surprise anyone. Well, they did. The sequencing is creative, even brillaint, and the sound quality is so extraordinary that "I'm Yours" has finally found a way to sound like the track they had in mind when they first recorded it: Elvis's double-tracked duet is mixed to the front and the skating rink organ is hidden in the wings. If you're hedging your bets on this one, go ahead and punch the BUY button. It holds a number of true surprises. For the true believer, I recommend playing it without first reading the song list. Its even better.

This Elvis cd is great I love Elvis music in the 60's I do recommend this to all Elvis fans. Movie Mars delivered my package on time as promised and the price of this cd you couldn't refuse. Covering a lot of 60s material, this CD set overlooks the most often used hits of 1960-62 in favor of the latter part of the decade. Quality of sources is excellent and the mix of songs is superb! Each disc could have had more songs included, but the quality compensates for the lack of quantity.A large number of great album tracks along with a decent number of hit singles and a wonderful listening experience in the order they have been assembled.

This absolutely a great 3 CD set of Elvis Presley's Real the 60's Collection I must have countedat least a dozen tracks I have never heard before and the quality of the sound on these 3 CD'sis unbelievable so very clear and it is worth more than a five star rating if your a fanatic Elvis fanlike me then you will truly like this 3 CD set.Morris

Superb selection with a couple of surprises. A must have for educating the non believers. Good cross section of songs for the casual observer and a younger generation who wish to explore the talent of the man they have heard of but may not know the diversity of his talent.

Esta edición The Real...Elvis como su nombre lo dice, la totalidad de sus canciones son de los años sesenta. En lo personal me gusta más el estilo de Elvis de los años sesenta en adelante pues su voz se escucha un poco más grave y madura. Poseo varias recopilaciones de los éxitos de Elvis (ocho para ser exactos) y alrededor de 400 y algunas canciones aparecen repetidamente en estas colecciones como Suspicious Minds, Jailhouse rock, Blue Suede Shoes, Hearthbreak Hotel y esta recopilación añade muchísima variedad a mi colección de canciones de Elvis pues son realmente pocas las canciones trilladas como pueden ser In the Getto, Guitar Man, Suspicious Minds y una que otra.Además, hay unas joyas como, A little less conversation, If I can Dream (una de mis grandes favoritas de siempre), You dont know me, Dont cry daddy y muchas otras.En conclusión, adquirir esta colección vale mucho la pena porque es un disco triple con 49 canciones de Elvis (garantía de calidad) que no son tan comunes a un precio casi regalado (100-200 pesos).
