Beautiful!!
I love it! Just arrived this morning! I know some reviews said they were a bit confused on how to use the mat and a bit disappointed in the cards in general. Honestly though, I do tarot on my spare time and have for years. I don’t find it the least bit of confusing at all. The mat appears to work with TWO people in some kind of dynamic/relationship of sorts. So you and your best friend, you and a love interest, you and your spouse, you and a family member ect. As for the cards they are very beautifully illustrated and feel sturdy. I also like the quick meanings written on each one. Not sure how that’s much different from an oracle deck. But I find this feature makes it a bit unique for a tarot deck. The instruction booklet is short and doesn’t offer much insight. Not uncommon for some tarot decks. I have a few like that. Beautifully and artfully crafted but lacking in the book area. So I’d recommend getting a tarot meaning book to help understand the basic meanings if that’s a problem for you. It’s otherwise absolutely beautiful and I’m excited to use it!

Weird... I dont get it. Im ...
Weird...I dont get it. Im an avid tarot user and my daughter is always wanting to try my cards but they say no one should use your personal deck. So I thought I'd get her these so she could get the feel for it..not impressed and the concept of the playing mat confuses me honestly...and if a grown taroter doesn't get it doubt many kids would.

Deck sucks and I returned
Beautiful cards kind of flimsy but for the price you get what you pay for. The minors have no pictures or descriptions just numbered but the majors, aces and court cards do.

Definitely a toy
This is a cute toy for teens ad pre-teens. People serious about Tarot should pass on this one.The Major Arcana, the Court Cards and the Aces are all illustrated in a graphic, comic book like design in purple, pink and blue. The images are really pretty good and follow the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition closely. Each of these cards has a meaning printed on the card based on where it shows up in the spread - past, present or future. The meanings are creative and will give me a new way of thinking about some of these cards. The Pips (2-10 in the Minor Arcana) are disappointing. They are just images of the emblem of the suit - stars (pentacles) wands, cups and swords. They are all pretty much identical. The instructions are lacking too. I have not yet gone to the website to see what else is available with the "secret code" that was provided, so there may be more available. The included spread mat is pretty good, the spread on it is not the Celtic Cross, but something I would call a relationship spread - just what a 14 year old would want. The backs of the cards also have hidden codes on them so you can tell which card it is from the back and amaze your friends with the magic trick. All in all, a fun toy, but if you have a teen who is really interested in Tarot, go with a real Tarot deck with proper instructions. The Wizards Tarot would be a good choice, it has a "Harry Potter" feel to it that would appeal to that age group.

Colorful
Bought these for a friend... had to buy a tarot reading book to help explain cards in greater detail as the product was too vague for beginner? But the color and art is great and Mat is a handy for starters.

Good value for the price
Cannot complain about this item for the money, good deal. Card stock is a little flimsy. Art work reminds me of comic books and the cards have past, present and future interpretations printed on the face. Good value for the money.
