3M PELTOR Hearing Protection Optime 95 Earmuffs, Adjustable Earcups, E-A-Rfit Compatible, Stainless Steel

We have a pair of these and a pair of the similar yellow 98's and are pleased with both. These are less thick than the 98's but don't offer quite as much sound protection, although there is not a huge difference. My husband prefers the yellow 98's but I like these better, mainly because they are thinner, are a less noticeable color, and therefore aren't quite as unattractive to wear. These are also a couple of dollars cheaper than the 98's. Both are similarly constructed except for the ear piece thickness, and fit well. For target shooting, they reduce a loud bang to a muffled pop. They also greatly reduce background noise, but speech can be heard softly if the person is facing you and speaking in a fairly loud voice. They would probably be good for use with power tools and lawn mowers. These are better muffs than some that are available locally for about the same price. They are lightweight and comfortable and the headband can be adjusted up or down for fit. No complaints so far. They are cream colored, not white.

These are fantastic low profile noise canceling earmuffs. For the shooting range I also wear foam earplugs in addition to these. They’re easy to wear for hours on end at the range. They are a little tight, but that’s better than Loose! Their lightweight I’d happily have many pairs for working with power tools, and for the range. Great job 3M! These are great quality very good value.

Update (4 months later) I've moved since the last review and these still work great. I use them to study for hours at a time, and they are very comfortable, just make sure your adjust them so they fit correctly. It feels like they don't weigh anything after you've had them on for a few minutes and at times I forget that I'm even wearing them. It'll take a day or two to get use to the pressure though, if you're going to be wearing these for long periods of time. ----- This product was great for cancelling out or reducing ambient noise since it only reduces the noise level by 21dB. If you're in a room and no one is next to you holding a conversation, then these are great for studying and cancelling the ticks of the clock, the squeaks of the table or chair, or the shouting from you Italian neighbor yelling at his indolent, defiant son. If your roommate is throwing a party and you have to study, the addition of 32 dB earplugs along with these completely over the ears, earmuff will do wonders in canceling out the noise, but nothing against the rattling of the bass or the urge to sneak out to have a peak. Adjusting the size was difficult at first because the earpieces wouldn't move, but it eventually budged. Not sure how the guy working with airplanes did it, but if you're trying to make your place a more quiet place for studying, then these may come in handy.

They are a little tight for a middle-sized adult but work well and are nice quality. I think they are likely to loosen up a bit as they get used. One nice thing about these vs. the "better" ones from 3M is that they aren't as wide. For me, the other ones would frequently bump things as I was working, and these don't.

Despite the fact the guy that delivered the package just nonchalantly tossed it by my door and you could hear it hit the concrete which annoyed me a bit with how careless he seemed. The fact that my security camera is further away from the front door and you could still hear it hit the ground is kinda of ridiculous. Watching him just let it drop made me cringe, I got worried seeing how the box was damaged. Grateful nothing broke - Now, the product itself? - Definitely worth the money. These don't completely end surrounding noise which is great, it reduces everything to a highly manageable level allowing me to still be aware of my noisey surroundings, they fit comfortably which is a definite plus. Even my 2 year old likes them. It's easy to transition from a fitting comfortable to him and then switch back to where it's comfortable for me. Wondering how much I like these? I ordered the behind the neck and over the head ones. Same thing just a different wear and they're both great.

For the price, this can't be beat. The earmuffs are comfortable, and block out a lot of noise. The fit is good, they aren't bulky at all, and the size is easily adjusted. I use these when I'm operating power tools mostly, so they are off and on. I can't speak to leaving them on for extended periods, but even with a normal to slightly smaller head, these are a bit snug. The lower part of the muff starts to press on the nerves below my ear, and behind my jaw, but not enough to cause irritation, at least for the amount of time I wear them. I suppose if you were trying to sleep in these, it might be a problem, but you may be able to gently stretch out the wire frame to loosen them a bit. Overall, I'm very happy with these, especially for such a great low price.

bought this item to muffle the loud music played at my gym. Did exactly that. Fit snugly on my average size head and padded ear covers made for comfortable wear. Highly recommend this product.

I use these when sleeping, so they've got to be comfortable. These are low-profile, so I can sleep on my side as well as on my back, and they're OK for a while, but after a couple of months the seals start to flatten out. This reduces the acoustic effectiveness, and the shells press on my head -- I often wake up with a headache from the pressure. Replacement seals are available, but they're usually sold in bulk only, and cost about 1/2 the price of a new set. Going to try the H9A Optime 98, which claims to have a broader seal and "Soft seal liquid/foam filled cushions" which may be more comfortable and last longer. Update: I spoke with Peltor tech support, which comes in 2 flavors: support for passive headsets like the Optime series, and active-electronics headsets, like the Tactical Pro and others. The passive side said they thought the most comfortable headset was the Optime 98; the active side offers lots of options, mostly bulky, with electronics I don't need, and all pretty expensive. They both suggested the best solution for my particular problem would be to keep my Optime 95, but replace the seals with Peltor's HY80 Gel Ear Seals. (These fit a lot of their headsets, but DON'T fit on the Optime 98.) That way I could keep the low-profile ear cups, but add the extremely comfortable (but pricey) gel ear seals. They should be here in a couple of days; I'll update further in a week or two. Another update: I used them last night with the new seals, and they're now the perfect solution for sleeping in a noisy environment. Very effective noise reduction, and very comfortable. We'll see how long they last. I wore them all night and woke up only when my wife shook me awake, concerned about a barking dog outside. I guess that's one downside of sleeping with these things -- if the alarm (clock or burglar) goes off, I'll never hear it. All I have to do now is add a wireless receiver in the headset and transmitters on the alarms to pipe the alarms' audio in.

イヤマフはじめての購入でしたが、 全体的にとても気に入っているので星5です。 １枚目の写真を見て色合いがオシャレだと思い購入しました。 しかし届いたものはパット部分、上部の頭あての部分が茶色ではなく黒でした。 ３枚目の頭につけている写真の色が正確です。参考にしてください。 色に関してはほんの少し残念でしたが、 装着感、遮音性、軽さ、が気に入っているので気にしていません。 まず軽さですがかなり軽いです。重さで苦になることは絶対にありません。 苦になるとしたら装着感の圧迫感ですがこれは商品の性質上、少しあります。 普通のヘッドホンより少しだけきつい程度です。 私は長時間つけていると慣れて気にならなくなります。 また、持ち運びのために折りたたんだりとかはできないですね。 折り畳めれば最高でした。 そして遮音性に関してですが、 業務用空気清浄機マックス、扇風機マックス、PCフル稼働、エアコンという部屋でつけたら イヤマフ単体で９０％ぐらい遮音されます。 風切り音でうるさくても軽い音なので遮音性が高いのでしょう。 耳栓＋イヤマフをしたら自分に喋りかけてくる人の声は殆ど聞こえません。 イヤマフだけでも何言ってるかわからないぐらいになります。 騒音の多い場所でイヤホンする方は自然と音量上げてしまって、耳への負担が大きくなるので イヤホン＋イヤマフでイヤホンの音量小さくするのも自分はありだと思います。 大きいものと比べると遮音性は劣るので、 ラフなイヤーマフがこれで、もっとしっかり遮りたい方は大きめのを買うのがいいです。

I have a pretty small head and they are snug but they work for my zero turn mower , I didn’t care for the spungy ear plugs so these are a great option and comfortable as could be possible for ear protection.
