This little book has three of the best stories from the British "Comics" series "COMMANDO". I grew up with Sgt. Rock and all the DC comics "Army At War" style comic books (Wish I still had them now! Oh Mother, how could you???) Anyhow, the kids in UK had the same kind of stuff, but it was also aimed at adult readrers a bit more than the US stuff. More death and a bit of gore, etc. The stories in this volume deal with the air war and bomber missions....nobody hanging out of bomb bays here this time, but some really involved, accurate, well drawn and written storylines. And, "the Jerries" are not the idiotic dolts they were in other such publications! I highly reccommend this volume to anyone interested in WWII, aviation, and just history in general. Amazon did a great job getting my order filled and delivered, as is usually the case! My reason for 4 stars? Well, the publisher has apparently realized they have a gold mine here, and have shrunken the size of the books to smaller overall dimensions than the previous volumes, about 1/3 the size of a typical comic book....but over 100 pages of pulp paper thickness! And the number of included stories featured has dropped to and standardized (I hope) at three per volume. All in black and white, except for the "pasteboard" color covers.

I have been an ardent reader of Commando Comics since my childhood but wasn't able to pursue the same owing to call of duty. I decided to renew my passion once again and ended up buying 3 triple stories' commando comics which are 'Bombs Away', 'Who Dares Wins' and 'Dive!Dive!Dive!' all for just Rs 161 each... Got all three neatly packed on 31 August, 2013. Though I haven't read all of 'em, but the initial scanning has lead to the impression that Commando Comics have only got better in all these years... Thanks to Amazon.in for providing these at subsidized rates else it would have cost me Rs 600 odd for each of the aforesaid books... Hope more such books are made available soon..... Overall... A Great Buy...

Bought with a group of similar titles for my military mad 8yo. Recommended by a teacher for some variety to his reading. "Fun, adventurous, and provided some facts about WW2 and its machines", he says. Contains 3 stories in c200 pages. Some vocabulary was quite advanced but he enjoyed and followed the plots mostly independently. There is some shooting and explosions, and associated "aaargghh"s but no gore and is nowhere near Transformer movie levels. The worst word I've found is "flaming".

I have been reading these since I was a kid.There great for killing half an hour in the sun with a brew.
