Kickstarter Companion 00 Edition

A friend of mine recommended Heidi as a Kickstarter consultant. She also recommended her book. The "Kickstarter Companion" is organized and detailed. It's also chock full of checklist items it would be easy to miss when constructing your own Kickstarter campaign. I love this book BUT hiring Heidi as a consultant was one of the very best things I've done for my business and future Kickstarter campaign. She KNOWS Kickstarter. Heidi understands the needs/wants of backers and campaigners. Her insight into the psychology of each is priceless. And her recommendations for my campaign made so much sense and were so clever I was a tiny bit jealous I didn't think of them! ;)If you want a no-fluff, easy to understand, REAL guide to Kickstarter. This will give you some useful insight into the KS process (although most of this you can get on line). However, it is really for artists not product developers, so its usefulness to me was a bit limited.

Awesome book. Really came in handy when I was doing some crowdfunding. I used indiegogo instead of kickstarter, but a lot of the ideas for preparing, and marketing came in handy just the same.

Invaluable tips and info if you plan on doing a Kickstarter project. The process is well organized and each step is clearly spelled out. It thoroughly takes you through the funding process and lights up things you never would have thought of: time management, budgeting, planning (pre and post project), structuring of funding levels, links and resources for sound and video, etc. Excellent crowd-funding resource!

Valuable info for anyone interested in doing a kickstarter. It breaks things down nicely. I was on the fence about doing a kickstarter, but this book motivated me to go for it. I'll be launching a project the beginning of this October.
