Q: Does this device have temperature sensor or does it rely on the one in the AC unit?

Hello! No, the atomi Smart AC Adaptor can turn your AC unit on or off based on a variety of thresholds (i.e. weather, time, other devices, etc.). Q: Does this Works with a mini Split unit that cannot be connected to the wall which is internally connected??

Hello, This will work as long as your mini split has an infrared remote and the Atomi Smart AC Adaptor is plugged in close by. You will not be able to monitor energy consumption if the unit is not plugged directly in, however. Thanks! -atomi smart
