This is exactly what I was looking for replacing a burnt out bulb.

Kitchen light fixture
The light works well in my kitchen light. Its the only light in the house that uses this type of bulb. The only thing I don't like is that they burn out at about 18 months.

Loved it!
Can't find this bulb in any of the hardware stores in my town, Amazon's normally my go-to place for these obscure sorts of things, and lesson learned. I'll wait the two days and just order it here next time instead of wasting all the time and gas I did driving all over town on a fruitless search for this one little thing. Worked flawlessly when I received it and hasn't stopped yet. I don't care if they only last for two years; I'll take paying a few extra dollars every couple years for a new CFL as opposed to the extra $50/month in electric bills I would be paying with incandescents (that's $600/year, math geeks, and I have a very small house). What? CFLs have safety issues? Um, pretty sure incandescents have those too. That's why you check your lights regularly, geniuses! I'm fully on board with CFLs, always will be, until I see or experience definitive proof for myself that they are a detriment to society. My wallet and I are plenty happy for now though, thanks.

I'm not buying it again!
I would not buy this Phillips product again. Though it had extremely little usage it didn't last. The luminaire was brand-new and UL-listed. The homerun length (conductor distance from panelboard to luminaire) is less than 70 feet. I dont live too far from the utility pole distribution transformer, so my building service entrance (panelboard) voltage doesn't suffer much voltage drop.Added notes: I clicked to this Amazon website after clicking on my old orders. ONE DIFFERENCE: The lamp that failed has "Made in China" stamped on it. The photo here shows, "Made in Holland" on its base. Otherwise all the product and serial numbers are identical.July 10, 2017 Addendum: The company WAS amenable to talking about a return or refund but required me send them photos, including a photo of the fixture used (which was brand-new). This was not physically easy for me to do with an injured neck, so I never removed (or had a need to remove) the better bulbs currently substituting for the short-life Philips Lighting 38334-9 bulbs.
