Dried Crystallized Ginger Chunks, 1 lb

This stuff is SO good!!! I just love the sweetness combined with the kick of the ginger. I have tried several brands and find that this brand is consistently the best. Pieces are tender but not mushy, evenly coated with sugar but it's not caked on, sliced thinly and contain very few woody, fibrous pieces. (I think occasional woody pieces are the nature of the product and are inevitable. While I get a few woody ones, none have been inedible.) I prefer the thin slices over chunks and that might be why I am partial to this brand too. I am diabetic but eating a few pieces of this doesn't affect my blood sugar very much. I love that I'm getting a delicious treat and getting the health benefits of ginger. I have used this when I have felt nauseated and it really does alleviate the nausea. I wish this came in a resealable bag instead of the stiff plastic that rips so easily. Of course, this is easily remedied with a zip lock bag!

I ordered this in June 2015 and got exactly what is in the picture. Plump fill size slices of medium hot almost juicy ginger made up of uniform full size thick slices with absolutely no skins or fiber. It was branded SweetGourmet from trade concepts and was just what was expected. 5 Stars! I re-orded and this time got something completely different and nothing like the picture. These pieces were obviously scraps and partial pieces of small random slices with skins and some fiber and reddish in color branded Its Delish not SweetGourmet as described from It's Delish. Nothing like what is pictured or described. It does however taste about the same, just not as easy or attractive to serve. Obviously a poorer quality product for the same cost. 2 Stars.This 3 star rating a compromise rating between the two.

It could be I got a bad batch, but my experience doesn't match the average review on this item. I've tried various brands of crystallized ginger off amazon, some are good and others are not. I'll rate this item 2 stars.The pieces are very thin and dry, and many are so fibrous that after chewing half the bulk remains as tasteless threads to be spit out. The ginger flavor is not as strong as the sugar flavor. So it's not a high quality crystallized ginger.The impression I get is that it's bottom-of-the-barrel dregs. I won't order this item again. I look for candied ginger to be tender, a bit thick, strong ginger flavor without a cloying sweetness. This ain't it.best of luck...

The name conjures up the image of dice sized pieces. These are pitifully small, petite pea sized pieces, more like crumbles. The pathetically small pieces allow for so much sugar coating as to completely overpower the ginger, rendering the whole inedible.

Tastes good, has larger than regular sugar crystals on it and most pieces are somewhat chewy, some not. Some pieces are quite hot, some are not. Still good.My ears are ringing as I type this. Really. If you have tinnitus, this will trigger it. (Contains sulfur dioxides) Good other than that! And the ringing stops if I don't eat this ginger for a day.I'll continue to observe my reaction and add to this review if there is anything to include or change here.I love ginger.

This crystallized ginger candy is excellent. I love this stuff--it tastes good--but it also helps with my GERD. My only wish is that it wasn't so heavily sugared; I'm the low-sugar dietary type. But honestly, this product has no more sugar than any of the other brands. So if you love ginger candy or if you want a natural product to help with stomach issues, this product is for you.

I got this to help with sea sickness. Since I got this about a month prior to going on my vacation, I have been testing it out. I have added it to my hot tea as it steeps, which gives it just a little sweet taste and I love the added ginger taste in the tea. I also got sick to my stomach one night and since I knew ginger helps to settle your stomach, I immediately got a piece of this ginger. After only about 7 minutes, my stomach started feeling so much better. I am amazed. Now let just hope it works great on the boat.The taste has a little spicy pepper twang to it, but I think it is very good. I was not prepared for how big the bag was going to be. I got the 2.5 lb bag and it is huge. I will be passing it out to my family members.

I really like these to have a few after a meal. They help a lot of upset tummies. My biggest complaint is that there is too much sugar. I put them in a colander to shake off as much sugar as possible. I've bought these in the past and sometimes there is an over-abundance of small pieces.
