My awning is useable again!
Worked perfectly as a replacement for my malfunctioning wind sensor which caused my awning to continuously retract even when no wind was present. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Had to reset the entire motor on my awning but instructions covered how to do that. A bit pricey but it made my awning useable again so it was worth it.

It saved my awning twice now
Works fantastic. I am so glad I installed this when I did because the next day I had left the awning out and a freak wind storm came happened when I was in the basement. I came upstairs to see lawn chairs all overturned and the neighbor's tree limb and my awning nicely retracted. Since then my awning has been saved once more.

Nice replacement
Great replacement for my original wind sensor that ended up with corroded batteries. Easy to install had to google a video on how to pair it with my awning as it kept going in every 30 minutes

Could not be completely paired with our 10 year old SunSetter awning
Our previous Somfy G-sensor failed due to internal corrosion after a decade of service. The new we bought from Amazon unit could only be partially paired with out 10 year old SunSetter awning. It could sense disturbances of the awning and retract it, but it could not be paired to correct its default setting of retracting the awning un-commanded by the remote control, in less than an hour after extension. I consulted SunSetter, youtube, Somfy forums, and the like, tried every trick including disconnecting power from the motor unit to try to get proper operation, different batteries, but no joy, so returned the unit for refund and will operate our SunSetter awning without a G-sensor unit in future.

Easy to set up, just don't drop it
This is my second Somfy wind sensor. A couple of things to remember, if you drop it, it's done. The mounting bracket is very awkward to mount the unit to the bracket, The bracket is easy to install on the arm but when you have to mount the unit to the bracket have something underneath to catch it if you drop it. That's how I broke my first one. The sensitivity setting default is set at 2, that might be a little too sensitive . I set mine at three which works for me. JUST DON'T DROP IT!

Simple, Functional,, and is Insurance
The problem is that when the wind comes up and you forget or are not there to retract your awning, it may rip the awning or rip apart of your house. OK, we all know that. The insurance, buy a sensor. So we did. It is simple, amazing, easy to install. If you have a Somfy remote, then this is just another, special purpose remote. Take it out of the box, put in the batteries, check the sensitivity switch (it is a switch and has steps in it, it is not like a volume control). You then program it (easy), peel of the double sided tape and attach it to the awning bar recommended by the awning manufacturer. Test, extend the awning out a ways, shake it for a few times over a short period and it will retract automatically. There is a time delay before you can extend the awning again. Wait a couple of minutes and test again. I have had it up for a while and needed the awning this summer every day. Wind came up in the afternoon and we wondered who retracted the awning. It must be working, and well.

If this is a replacement, you must delete the old sensor from the motor's memory
Obscenely expensive, but cheaper than a damaged awning due to wind. This replacement sensor was easy to install and program. The problem arrived when I could not remove the old sensor from the motor memory. The awning would retract automatically every hour since it was unable to connect to the old broken sensor. I was unable to get the old sensor to work enough to delete it from being paired with the motor. I finally was able to solve the problem by reprogramming the motor. This 68-year-old grandma earned her tool belt on this one.
