Muse Magazine Kindle Edition

My 12-year-old pores over this magazine every month. Highly recommended for kids ages 9-12 who like science and/or crafts (she loves both). It's very balanced and not sexist--there's nothing about it that would appeal more to boys or to girls.

I had ordered a one year subscription in November 2013 which I intended to be a Christmas present for my little cousin. After ordering, I was told that the first issue wouldn't be delivered until January 2014. I was a little irritated by the fact that they didn't tell me until after I had already ordered it but, whatever, January is still fine. Well, it's now April 2014 and I called my aunt to see how my cousin was liking the magazine and I found out that they hadn't even received one yet! I never received anything from the publisher letting me know that the subscription was delayed another 4 months and I had to contact them through Amazon before they did anything about it! I'm not one to expect more than I paid for but, after contacting them, the only thing they "gave" me was to extend my subscription three issues. That's the three issues that they never sent me in the first place! I will not be renewing my subscription and will never do anything with this publisher again!

Buyer beware! This company will automatically renew any magazines you order and charge you without approval. The magazines are great, magazine express is not.

I give each of my grandsons a magazine subscription for their birthday. I also ask them if they want to continue it for another year when the notice for renewal comes in. My grandson will be 14 and enthusiastically said yes. This is either the 2nd or 3rd year for him for this magazine and he reads it from cover to cover.

This is a great magazine, but the company happily takes your address (and your child's name, if you're lucky enough to have received a gift subscription from a naive relative) and sells it to anyone and everyone. Once I found out about the gift subscription, I called Muse and made sure that our information was marked as "do not sell". They assured me that it was, and then, after my child began receiving credit card offers and real estate solicitation, called back and found out that "oops - it was never marked". Three calls later, they still could not manage to keep from selling our child's information. I told them that I was cancelling the subscription because of this, and their response was pretty much a shrug. They told me that it was my problem, and that next time I should ask to have our information kept private. Not a good attitude when you publish for kids.

Nice gift for our grandchildren. Good, thought-provoking material for this 10+ age group. Hopefully give the kids something more that staring at a electronic device...

Excellent magazine for the inquisitive child 9 years and older. The articles have real substance, so much that adults can read and learn. For example, a recent issue explained in 8 pages what Internet companies actually do if you give a phone or tablet app location permission. The article thoughtfully explained how this loss of personal privacy persists for a lifetime in terms that everyone can appreciate. The magazine contains no advertising. Altogether excellent.
