What she doesn't know is that Greg has an ulterior motive: to win a bet by sleeping with Lexi on their first date and capturing it all on video. Once Greg's bitter ex-girlfriend Carleigh hears about the "date" she starts emailing the video around school. The video quickly goes viral and many lives are destroyed. When Lexi commits suicide, Michelle vows to get justice.

Good movie for conversation starter with young people.
Parents watch first and then decide for yourselves when you think your child should see. Not everything is taught in school and there are some life long consequences of your actions! Murder and drugs and thievery are NOT the only wrongs that can have LIFE LONG outcomes. Sure, it's just a movie .... but kids/young adults do not always listen as much as they will watch a movie. And since you have already seen the movie, be close by or even watching with them to use this as a tool to teach your young how to and how not to have this happen. It's not always a stranger that does harm.

Surprisingly good thrilling plot! Worth watching!
Betrayed at 17 is a fun little Lifetime Movie, which was surprisingly good, considering that it is a “made for TV” film. We have a thrilling plot with enough twists to keep the viewer guessing when the murderer will be caught, we have drama and mystery as well as a message behind it all. Bullying is a big problem in society these days and this is one of those films that makes you realize just how vicious high school kids can be. The acting was also much better than one would expect these films to be like. The film, Betrayed at 17, isn’t particularly unique, the acting is good though and the directing is sufficient. I liked the plot as well and although the budget probably didn’t consist of much, it’s definitely one of those films that you might re-watch when the mood strikes. What’s more is that there are some interesting twists in the plot, like I mentioned. It’s easy to spot them though, but again, Betrayed at 17 is not classified as being “cinematic genius” whatsoever and it doesn’t even come across as that. The fact of the matter is, it’s just one of those enjoyable films that you’ll be able to re-watch from time to time and it’s good quality considering all the elements that works against it (small budget, predictable at times, etc.)Other than that, Carleigh Taylor, played by Katie Gill looks all sweet and innocent, but she dominates the screen easily and then for the ladies, Shane Ross, played by Jake Thomas… Lizzy McGuire’s dorky kid brother? Yeah, he’s in it too, and boy oh boy did puberty do him right! So, yes, there are some good things, even though it is a “Made for TV” film.

Diabolical psychopath
I couldn't say I liked it because of that evil self-centered girl getting away with it. She proved Greg right she was a psycho.. The actress played it good. Most probably wanted her to blow her brains out. Her father will plead her insane. Hopefully, If this was a real case, she would be put in prison for the rest of her life.
