Minnow 1.0 USB Temperature and Humidity Data Logger

When it was working, it provided the data needed, hence the two stars. However I CANNOT recommend this item due to the fact that it stopped working just a little over a year of use and after warranty expiration. How a solid state device can break so quickly is head scratcher, esp. given it was handled minimally and inside a locker. Looking for a replacement, but will avoid this manufacturer.

We have got 4 Senonics Minnow Loggers which we have been used to monitor storage conditions for materials we use in production. I am not so familiar with logging devices so I need something which is easy to use.The Senonics logger comes with a PC program I just down-loaded from their Web-site. There was no driver or special accessory boxes so I didn't have any problems getting the software to work with the logger. Just plug and play. The PC application is very intuitive.What I really did like was that you can save configurations to disk. This is a big help for me because then I can go through the configuration once and then use the same configuration from file to configure all my loggers in exactly the same way. It is so quick and error free.One other nice thing is that their loggers can be told to start logging at a certain time. This way I can set up all my loggers to start at the same time and be synchronised.It might be nice if they included some print function in their GUI so I can send logged data to my printer but otherwise I really like to use this logger and feel I can trust the data.Ming HuiNano River Technologies ApS

We were looking for a logger that was easy to setup, small, inexpensive (but not cheap :) and high quality. The Minnow swam right in!We were a little concerned going with a smaller shop that hasn't been in business for as long as some of the bigger companies but their service has been amazing. We had a couple of questions about the software (free, instead of an additional cost like most loggers) and they answered within the hour.We've been testing our unit in our cold chain (shipping produce) against some of the higher cost loggers and it's been working perfectly despite the humidity and mistreatment, so we're going to be ordering more for production use.

The first thing we noticed about the Senonics Minnow logger was that is it just so tiny - not much bigger than the coin cell itself yet still very robust. Great for a lab environment.Senonics claim +/-0.1C temperature accuracy around room temperature. From what we see this seems to be correct and they say this is because they do some calibration of each individual logger prior to shipping.Logging depth also seems very good. It is about 64K samples so you can just let this logger run and not worry about it stopping or wrapping over old data even at higher sampling rates.We were worried initially if the battery life would really live up to the 4 year lifetime claimed in their documentation but we have been running our device now for several months on the first battery and the battery indication still looks good.I would have given this product five stars but the lack of a dew point display forced me to choose four star. I hope they include it in an updated GUI at some point.

I recently began shopping for a recently priced temperature logger for monitoring temperatures in apartments. I sometimes have tenants complaining about the temperature (I pay utilities), and I have never known if they were exaggerating or not. This logger will settle those questions once and for all.As well, the humidity logger will be very helpful in monitoring for steam leaks in buildings with steam boilers. Steam leak in unit=high humidity.This logger is perfect. It is extremely intuitive and seems well built. The software is simple and easy to navigate.What finally convinced me to purchase this particular logger is it is compatible with Mac OSX -it seems to be the only one on the market (at this price point at least) that works, and works well, with Mac.Highly, highly recommend.UPDATE 2/12/16: I love this data logger. So far I've used it in several rental units where tenants were complaining about temperature swings. For one, it confirmed my suspicions that the tenant was exaggerating- this little logger showed that the temperature hovered around 70 degrees most of the time. For the other situation, it showed that there was indeed a problem, and helped fine tune the building after I changed the thermostat setup. Only complaint is that the default window on the software seems too big for my 13" Macbook Pro screen. I have to maximize the window in order to see the 'Read' button, and it doesn't seem like the window can be resized.
