CALLERIS Chestnut Flour, 17.86 OZ

I've never tried chestnut flour before, so take 5 stars with a grain of salt if you have experience.This has quite a distinctive flavor and is finely ground, and is tasty when added to items in the pancake-muffin-cake continuum. I keep the bags in the fridge/freezer. There is a recipe for a traditional cake in multiple languages on the back, which may be authentic, based on the idiosyncracies of the English translation.

Mine was spoiled when I received it. It absolutely ruined my recipe and it tastes really off. I had to throw both bags away. I had used a different brand previously, so I know what it should smell and taste like. I'm so disappointed....

The product was as described; and the less than stellar rating only came from the cost of shipping, which increases the price of the flour by about a third. I have since found the product locally, at an Italian grocer, for far less, taking that lack of postage into consideration.The flour is great for pasta recipes, as well as for making Castagnaccio, a savory cake, of sorts, with dried fruit and pignoli . . .

Very smooth and good tasting and priced right. I had purchased another chestnut flower, but it was tastless. This is much better.

Italian secret! I only use this in one way- coat pork products (loin, chops, etc.) and fry in olive oil. Only found this in S.F. ferry building years ago, now I can buy it anytime!

Flour is old. Ruined my recipe. Bitter. Not fresh at all. Need to check if it can be returned. Just awful.

Delicious, but pricey.
