1313 Ace Guitar Strap Assorted Colors

I own three original 1960s "ACE" and 2 "Bobby-Lee "straps & these only resemble an authentic "ACE" type strap. Original "ACE" straps may have mojo and are cool but I would never use one on any guitar that I own. !First off the originals are 50 year old leather & naugahyde made guitar destroyers. The metal buckles scratch the finish and the leather tabs are deteriorated ,stretched out and ready to drop your axe to the floor!They may be cool to look at--- but to use at a gig ...no way!Collectors buying vintage "ACE" straps to add to their vintage axe take note or suffer the consequences ! D' Andreas differs in that it is made out of a thicker non padded polyester material. The originals often had a much thinner &lighter woven material stitched over a spongy "pleather " naugahyde backing .The D'Andreas "ACE" strap gets bonus points for choosing to use a thicker polyester weave without that backing.That original "ACE" backing is notorious for wrecking havoc on any vintage guitar finish if left in contact with the guitar. Also , unlike vintage "ACE" straps , there is no stitching ready to come loose from the backing and the pattern is the same on both sides. The "ACE" had a "facing " pattern on top and lighter " backing" pattern on back much like upholstery.Vintage "ACE" straps had stamped sheet metal buckles that will scratch the hell out of your vintage axe over time.D' Andreas uses a plastic buckle , which truth be told can scratch your guitars' finish also. I just took some sand paper and buffed the edges over .....no sharp edges ! Vintage "ACE" straps had the thicker leather tabs stitched and riveted over metal chrome plated oblong hoops.The D' Andres ACE strap uses plastic hoops and thinner stitched leather tabs which appear to be sturdy ..at least much sturdier than 50 year old dried out & deteriorated "ACE" straps.Altho available in much drabber and limited colors than the vintage "ACE" originals, I like the D Andreas "ACE" straps for being an excellent value and alternative to the ridiculously priced & unreliable originals.On the other hand , I am disappointed that AMAZON does not allow the customer to pick a color as there appears to be six colors available. Recently , I ordered two and got two dark blue ones ...BOO! If you want the "vintage" ACE look and want to save a lot of money , I highly recommend these straps. Altho they may be a bit plain looking , for the AMAZON prime price they simply cannot be beat.If you want something vintage "ACE" looking in much more vibrant colors, look at Planet Waves hippy/hootenanny straps or the more upscale SOULDIER brand made from the actual vintage "ACE" pattern material with quality materials and construction .

NOTE: be advised that you cannot choose which color scheme you prefer!! these are functionally appropriate straps. i ordered one but did not have a choice as to color scheme. i asked the community & received helpful counsel to the extent that ordering these was simply a dice roll in terms of color palette i'd ultimately get. so (being of intrepid disposition) i rolled & received a "yellow"-ish color scheme (which was cool enough). i liked the price point well enough/ value & the fun of randomness so much that i ordered another strap hoping to get "lucky" w/ a different color pattern. sadly, i did not (get lucky that is) & received another "yellow" one. oh well, no big deal. as to quality, they are what you'd expect at this price point & work perfectly fine thus far (of course, this review is based upon on a month or so of use - long term, i'm not at liberty to say w/ confidence how they'll hold up). for the price, it's a great value though... perfect for folks looking to take a "chance" on what s/he'll get but happy to receive a reasonably well-made product.

Very cheap strap. The reality of it is that this is probably very similar to the originals from the 70s since this is suppose to be a copy. I remember those seeming very cheap so it is probably pretty close. I guess maybe my taste have change since then... I would recommend a more highly quality strap from a company like Walker & Williams.The strap is very thin and uncomfortable since there is no backing on the strap. The one that I received (you cannot pick the pattern) is a black strap with dark blue and black pattern. It does not POP at all. Don't expect to receive that strap that is pictured. The leather ends are small but adequate. While this is a usable strap if you just want something cheap, overall it was a disappointment for me.

Can't beat the price, thin but workable. I was VERY disappointed when I received them though. I ordered three, and of the three, two were EXACTLY the same and the third one was a rainbow pattern that is NOT shown in the pictures above.Seriously, you sent me two that were exactly the same from a product that you can't pick which ones you receive???So of the five pictured, there were three that I really liked and guess how many of those I got....0. Odds should've given me at least ONE of them.Not worth returning.

It is a durable strap and it works well with my first guitar (acoustic). The color of the strap I got was blue (not able to choose which color when ordering) but it looks nice. In order to secure this strap to the guitar you would need another string to tie around the guitar neck. The other end of the strap with the black flap goes over the bottom pin located at the bottom of the guitar. This product does not come with directions, but it is simple enough to search online.

I was lucky in the draw and got a strap design that I actually like. This would not make a good strap for an electric guitar because it is too thin and there is no padding at all. However, for my acoustic, it is perfect and the price can't be beaten.

Good quality strap made with a light soft material. I like the colors and would recommend this strap to anyone looking fora low cost attractive guitar strap. I was a little concerned that it does not come with neck strings.

I am starting to learn to play guitar and I bought this as a way to help me while I stand and play. It arrived right on time. The only thing that I didn't like was that there was no option of what color to choose. Luckily, I was sent the exact one that I wanted.

I have been playing guitar and therefore using guitar straps since the late 60's so I am not making these comments lightly. This IS a D'Andrea strap but it IS NOT one of the Ace range (made by the company to replicate the original Ace straps of the 60's./70's.) as stated in the description. Very Misleading. It is a very nice looking strap. BUT. There is a world of difference. The Ace range has the word 'Ace' embossed in gold on the leather end. These straps are thin and only have ONE line of stitching fixing to the leather ends which does not inspire confidence in the ability of the strap to hold anything but the lightest of guitars. Not a Les Paul for sure. The price is stupidly cheap but even so the description here is misleading as it is not an Ace strap. This will certainly stop me considering buying an Ace as it makes me doubt the over all quality from D'Andrea .
