God Loves Me! I Don't Suck!
Although this book is geared toward young college girls, the underlying principles apply to all of us. I will be keeping this book for my girls to read when they're older. At the same time, I'll be pulling it out during the hard times when I need a reminder of who I am as a daughter of the King, friend of God, and bride of Christ.

Have a seat on the couch ... and chat!
Reading this book is like sitting down on the couch and chatting with a friend who has good insight with life, love, and common pitfalls that we so often wish we had avoided. The book addresses many meaningful topics (think self worth), but keeps things light, easy to read, and at times funny. It's like having a casual conversation with a friend ... I mean "casual" like you use certain phrases with a friend that you might not exactly say in ... a parent teacher conference, for example. The end of the book includes a "Helpful Chart for Horrible Days". Thoughtfully, there is one chart to stay in the book and an exact duplicate that you can tear out and keep handy from day to day. Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. I would consider it a good pick for a graduation gift or any occasion, especially for a teen or twenty something female.

One of the most hilarious and honest books I have ever read
Katie is so transparent in her book, Fake ID's. The fact that she knows what every college girl goes through is so comforting! Her hilarious stories from her own experiences caused me to laugh and cry all at the same time. She shines the light of Jesus in her book. Fake ID's gives me confidence to find my true identity in Christ and to forget all of the identities I have tried to fit myself into. Check out her blog, laneofroses.com for more posts about finding your identity in Christ, and a community of women who share your struggles and want to come alongside you and rejoice in your journey with Jesus.
