Does its job, keeps liquid nitrogen cold and stored
I'm a heavy equipment mobile mechanic. I bought this so I can go to my welding supply store and get liquid nitrogen to freeze and shrink bearings and pins. I purchased this in April of 2022. It has held up to field abuse and riding around in the back of the service truck. This summer, just as a test; I filled the tank up and then let it sit outside in the sun for about a month. Over a 4 week period, it lost 1/2 of the contents.........sitting in the baking sun......I'd say that's pretty good. It comes with stainless steel sample holders...........some of them are solid on the bottom, others have sieves to drain the liquid nitrogen out when removing the sample holders. These are color coded on top of the handle (I didn't need those so I threw them away). Also have a blue nylon sleeve covering the outside of the tank. The sleeve has some thin foam on the inside for protection of the tank and some insulating value. The sleeve has 2 straps (maybe like a packpack??) and a large pocket so you can store notes or any written info or records on the tank. Seems like a nice unit..........does what I need.............transporting liquid nitrogen.

More of a transport container
This is not a storage container, good for temporary use or transportation. Definitely not for storage. Requires fill up frequently

Handle with care. Keep it cold.
I vacillated and vacillated and finally bought this. Was not sure that 3L dewar for $144 was going to be a decent value. 3L of LN cost about $20. It has now kept the liquid nitrogen in a liquid state for eight days, even after we used portions of it. We only removed the plug briefly in order to transfer LN to another container. Yhe plug is a plastic cap with a long "styrofoam" insert. The dewar was kept in a cool environment. it is my assumption that if you live in a hot climate, and you keep it in a warm atmosphere, that the liquid nitrogen will evaporate faster. I am very happy with this purchase. Very good value. It is not meant for long term storage.

Nice little tank so far.
My daughter became an ai technician and needed a tank to hold cow straws in. We took this tank to the local cattle genetics place, and they were nice enough to fill it up, but they recommended we have a tank with a longer canister tube for the semen straw holders. These are short, but if you cut the straw holders in half, they will fit the canisters well. You just can not hold as many straws, but that was ok for my daughter, who is only a local ai tech for small farms anyway. I suggest that US Solids will make their canisters taller, since it seems to be something that the semen straw people want or offer the option of taller canisters. Her tank was filled up recently, but she bought the measuring stick to watch it. I will do an update on how this tank performs. Thanks!Update: This tanks does very well. We watched the cm's and it was consistantly losing 1 cm a week. then when it got to around 10 cm's it started jumping down by 2 to 3 cms. We refilled it at 7 cms. All the straws inside were still good! Nice little tank! I highly recommend if you are starting out and need to hold some straws for your own cows or as a small starter ai tech.

Cryogenic freezer
I had been nervous as to how well the tank would store medical grade liquid nitrogen. It’s been 8 weeks since I filled it and it still has plenty left, enough for another 8 weeks at least. Extremely important to put the lid on the metal perforated canister, otherwise the vials will float inside the tank. Use only one, max 2 canisters so they do not get tangled. Plus, there is no need for 6, one or 2 is enough. One alone can hold 12, 1ml vials.

Can't use it
Unfortunately, didn't work for us. Didn't hold as much as described.
