It serves its purpose! My Mac has that famous issue where the hinge that holds the monitor broke and Apple wouldn’t work on it because my computer’s considered obsolete, so I had to find a different alternative. This holder works very well and keeps my monitor from dripping.

The monitor on my relatively new iMac just flopped wherever it wanted, never stayed other than under the influence of gravity. Didnt want to crack it open to fix myself, or wait for Apple to do it, so I bought this. PROBABLY THE BEST PURCHASE I ever made for my computer stuff, given the cost. Went on in about 5 seconds, adjusted the monitor’s angle, tightened a screw, and voila! Wonderful product!

This device was a life saver, and by life I mean money. My admittedly ancient iMac’s hinge snapped and I was looking at either jury rigging the thing into a usable angle or shelling out well over $2K for a new machine knowing full well that the new M-series iMacs were coming out. Well, for the price of this device I’ve bought myself another year or so of use (it’d be longer if the machine was younger). Ok, so the details. It’s made from a solid feeling plastic, but is super tight when fitting it on to the stand. I had some plastic shavings come off from the inside of the groove that fits onto the iMac stand leg. No biggie, but just be aware that it’ll take some work to get this on, and this is also why I gave it 4/5 on “Value” and “Easy to install”. I just feel that the finish could be better, but then again, as an Apple device user I’m probably spoiled by a high bar for fit and finish. Once on it takes a little bit of back and forth to get the right angle (at least, it did for me). I also noticed that I was a screen fiddler, I’d unconsciously make minor adjustments to the angle throughout the day, something you won’t be able to do with this hinge replacement. Still, it’s been on my iMac for a month or so and since setting a solid, usable angle I haven’t touched this and it’s stayed in position. In fact, until I got the email to write this review I practically forgot all about it. Which is, in my mind, the best compliment for a device like this. Set it and forget it.

Works great! I was so disappointed when my stand on my 27” iMac broke. I used some books to prop it up, but it caused a nice looking computer to look dumpy. Came across this and didn’t hesitate. Glad I picked it up. Easy to set up, adjust, and my computer looks nice again!

Limited and partial fit - only fits half way, do not recommend to any one else!

This seems to do exactly what it was designed to do. I have a 2013 slim iMac. It was a bit tight going on, but no need for a mallet or anything. Just start up at the narrowest point and all is good. Two thumbs up.

Such a simple piece of plastic. Don;t be fooled though, it is a nice plastic high quality, holds the screen in place and works very well. Much more simple than having to tear my computer apart just to fix the simple plastic washer that breaks in these iMacs.

It's larger than I thought it would be, which is a good thing. It's solidly built and looks like it will last longer than the computer! I almost thought this wasn't going to fit on the iMac's stand. It's that tight. But a little angling and gentle pushing and wedging got it on there, and it's doing its job perfectly. And the adjustable knob means I can finally change the angle of my screen, something I haven't been able to do easily since my hinge broke several years a go. I wish I'd bought one sooner, since it beats the hell out of everything else I've tried as a stopgap!
