It says made in japan but country of origin says china is that a mistake?? it should be made in japan ,right?

Car parts can be made in countries far from the nation's brand. For instance, I'm sure lots of American-brand cars (Ford, Chevrolet, Chrysler, etc.) contain parts made in China. The majority of interior plastic parts and even the electronic components of engines are made in China. I bought this particular part for my wife's car, and it is identical to other caps on the vehicle which came installed by the factory.
